Saddened to hear of Val Kilmer Val Kilmer passing today. It was an amazing experience to be a small part of this legacy ~ we adapted from his poems four cinematic poetry projects in collaboration w/ some of my favorite artists. When we spoke about poetry & he quoted Voltaire to me “Poetry is the music of the soul”. He expressed his love for the pieces and to see his poems in this way. Few might know how instrumental poetry was to Val’s journey as an artist from his audition for Juliard when he was 19 performing a poem he wrote himself, up until the “My Number” piece we collaborated on in 2022. The world will remember him for his transformations and for setting the screen ablaze with iconic characters. I’ll remember him for that too. For inspiring me as a young actor. But I’ll also remember him as a rebel poet & artist, that had the courage to collaborate with me, to take risks in this new age and to see the value of art beyond his own celebrity. RIP to a true legend, good luck on your next voyage my friend 🥀🔥

Many on social media have asked how I became a part of Team Dhurandhar as a Research Consultant. Aditya Dhar has been a friend for many years even before the earth-shattering Uri project had begun. To cut the long story short, here we go. In March 2022, a highly placed source tipped me off about the mysterious killing of a man named Zahid Akhund in Karachi. I was told it was a major development, but given no further details. It took me two days to establish that Zahid Akhund was, in fact, Zahoor Mistry also known as Bhola one of the hijackers of the IC-814 aircraft. Nearly twenty-three years after the hijacking, he had been killed at point-blank range. The Pakistani ISI had instructed the local media not to report the incident. The killing itself was carried out by two bike-borne men from a local Karachi gang. I broke this story in Indian Media and entire national media followed my reporting. Later I investigated this further and made a documentary on this killing. The rest, as they say, is history. Around this time, Aditya Dhar was already working on his film’s storyboard. When he approached me, one conversation led to another and that’s how I came on board. As did my highly-placed source. Rest is classified information. Enjoy Dhurandhar. I was in the South with a friend when he told me about a memorial for an IDF soldier who had been killed in the war. So, on the way home from a desert trip, we stopped by. There was a plaque with his photo overlooking nature. When you pressed a button there, you could hear people speaking about him. You could hear music recordings his family had shared. You could feel him. And his name was Uri Bar-Or. Music wasn't just something he liked, it was central to who he was. He composed complex classical works, mixing it up with rock influences and other beats. And at 18, one of the pieces he wrote was even performed by the Israeli Chamber Orchestra on his birthday. I learned that his mentor believed he would become one of Israel's most important composers. That his talent wasn't ordinary, it was rare. I learned that beyond music, he taught children chess, math, and physics. He shared everything he knew—guitars, drums, even magic tricks and Rubik's Cube strategies—with anyone simply because he wanted to give. I learned that he was born in Midreshet Ben Gurion, in the desert itself. That he was described as an old soul in a young body, that the same inner voice that led him to compose also led him to enlist in the Nachal Brigade and serve as an IDF combat soldier defending our country. After we left, we happened to drive past a house with the name Bar-Or on a sign outside with a small guitar on it. I don't fully know why, but I felt the need to knock. Noah, his mother, who I didn't know, opened the door. I introduced myself, told her we'd just been at the memorial, that we'd heard his story and music, and she let me in. Standing there speaking to a mother whose door I'd knocked on—a mother who waited years for her firstborn son, whom she named Uri (light) and then lost in Rafah on May 28, 2024—it's impossible to put into words. It's hard to say anything to her. But I promised her I'd make a tribute to her son and share it with the world - and this is it. I didn't know Uri, but I stood in the desert and heard what he created. I stood in his family's home and felt what he left behind. Uri left light. Uri left music. 🤔 The rifle drop location of the leftist who assassinated Charlie Kirk has been revealed. From the video which cuts off…we can see him waiting at the intersection. So not to be semantical but the diagram showing him cut across the parking lot isn’t accurate because he walks along the pathway. So it appears Tyler Robinson walked across the street and “HID” the Mauser in that vicinity and then walked to his car. My only question is if he knew in his own words that his father would notice the gun missing and have to come back to collect it WHY NOT JUST TAKE IT WITH YOU TO YOUR VEHICLE AND REMOVE THAT FROM THE EQUATION? He seemed to smuggle the weapon in there with NO PROBLEM hidden well enough and with all the commotion getting back to your car with the weapon would be a priority. We have heard routinely that he is NOT a stupid person so he would know that after committing the most high profile ASSASSINATION in the 21st century w/ cameras everywhere of a personal friend of The President that no stone would be unturned. So DID HE REALLY THINK HE WOULD BE ABLE TO RETURN TO A CAMPUS THAT WOULD BE ON LOCKDOWN HOURS LATER TO RETRIEVE IT? That doesn’t sound like a MENSA move to me. I’ll leave my post here also from 9/12 when his father turned him in where I said AT BARE MINIMUM HE WOULD HAVE KNOWN HIS DAD WOULD KNOW ITS MISSING. Why use the terminology “DROP POINT” as if it’s an OP as opposed to saying “I hid or stashed it”? Just little details like that stand out to me. Take it with you at this point don’t drop it a hundred feet away from a crime of the century.

Khloé Kardashian reveals why she didn’t speak to her ex husband Lamar Odom for 10 years after their divorce before reuniting with him. She says that after he overdosed and suffered a stroke, she helped him through his rehabilitation, but once he was in a decent place, he started using again. And there will be time in our conversations that i started getting this feelings, little mannerism or things that would flash me back to 10/15 years ago. And i didn’t realize how triggered i was getting from Lamar. We didn’t talk for 10 years because after his overdose Lamar couldn’t walk or talk, he had a significant amount seizures and stroke, and needed to be rehabilitated, i helped him through that journey. And then when he was at a decent place he started using again, from that moment i said i can never see you again. I love Lamar with all my heart, even today. He was like one of the greatest love of my life. When he started using again after such a horrific accident, I couldn’t understand how someone will go do that again. It felt like you punched me in my stomach, I put so much of my life on hold to take care of this person”

A few months before Oliver Mtukudzi died, he called me to his base at Pakare Paye in Norton. He had just composed music for my documentary film State of Mind, which was about to be released. The film explored issues of mental health, and many times we would sit and talk, he would tell me secrets about the music industry. Often, he would ask me to switch off the camera, but on this particular day, he said I could record whatever he was saying on my phone. Oliver Mtukudzi created the music in all of my documentary films. Every piece of soundtrack in my productions was done by him. He always refused to take any payment from me after discovering that my paternal grandmother, vaDhiriza, was of the Nzou totem — the elephant — just like him. As you all know, Oliver Mtukudzi was Nzou Samanyanga, while my grandmother was Nzou Mukotomi. That connection brought us even closer. On this day, we were simply having one of our usual chats, but I did not realise it would be the last time I would ever see him. Sadly, he passed away two months after that conversation. I asked him why he had agreed to do the music for State of Mind at a time when he was extremely busy attending to his health. He looked at me, smiled gently, and said something that stayed with me forever. He told me that he did it because the film spoke to something deeply human — the struggles people face silently in their minds and families. He said music has the power to heal, to reach where words cannot, and that if his music could touch even one soul, then it was worth the effort. On the 13th of Sept, someone transferred 180k for an iPhone Xs 256GB. After acknowledging his receipt, he called, and I told him we don't have it but will ask colleagues and let him know. I asked my friend, and he told me 190k. I begged him to leave it at 180k because that is what the guy deposited (check frame 2 for reference). When he sent the phone from Kano to Jos, then I noticed it was an Xs Max. Seeing that the guy was in a hurry and didn't want to disappoint, I called him and told him what happened and said if he wants the Max, he can take it at no additional cost. I was willing to settle the difference because it was his first time buying from us. I packaged it with a new premium charger because all our used phones are sent packaged in our branded box with a charger, and I sent it to him in Abuja. He later messaged that he has received the phone and truly appreciates it. After months of not receiving any complaints from him, it clearly indicates that he has received a fully functioning phone. It is in our policy that if you find anything faulty within one week, you can return it to us and either ask for a replacement or refund. What this means is that the cost of bringing it from Kano to Jos, the packaging and charger, and the delivery to Abuja are all a loss to me. But I didn't mind because at least I have satisfied him. Nine weeks later, while I was in Kano, I saw a call from an unknown number. When I picked up, he said it was him. He told me that the camera has started giving him problems. I told him it has been months since you bought it, but you can take it to any repair store and tell me how much you spent, and I will pay. He asked if I know anyone, and I sent him someone's number. The guy didn't pick; he texted and informed me and later called me. I told him to go to anyone he trusts and let me know the amount he spent. A few days later, I was stranded between Kaduna and Abuja on my trip from Kano to Abuja because my car engine failed. He called, and I didn't pick; I don't even know his number. Later in the night, I received his messages on WhatsApp with a threat that he will make a video to tarnish the image of my business. Someone I was willing to help after months of buying a USED device from me is threatening me. I said he should go ahead because I can't entertain him anymore. In conclusion, a trade that I incurred a loss from is what some people are trying to justify as a scam. The beautiful part is I have made trades with hundreds of people here, and I would love two more people to come out and present a case in which they are still using a device I sold to them that is faulty and they contacted me for a replacement or refund, and I didn't do it instantly. "The hypocrite will always look for faults" - Ghazali. Those that are looking for a fault in me can justify something as woke as this; it doesn't matter. This is my own side and will no longer entertain him anymore. For those that believe in me without hearing from me, thank you so much.

A few days later, I was stranded between Kaduna and Abuja on my trip from Kano to Abuja because my car engine failed. He called, and I didn't pick; I don't even know his number. Later in the night, I received his messages on WhatsApp with a threat that he will make a video to tarnish the image of my business. Someone I was willing to help after months of buying a USED device from me is threatening me. I said he should go ahead because I can't entertain him anymore. In conclusion, a trade that I incurred a loss from is what some people are trying to justify as a scam. The beautiful part is I have made trades with hundreds of people here, and I would love two more people to come out and present a case in which they are still using a device I sold to them that is faulty and they contacted me for a replacement or refund, and I didn't do it instantly. "The hypocrite will always look for faults" - Ghazali. Those that are looking for a fault in me can justify something as woke as this; it doesn't matter. Man… outside of memorizing The Eminem Show (clean version), the FIRST tape that ever got me into music was J. Cole’s The Come Up. From that moment on I was locked in. I went to every show I could — my first being when he opened for Estelle at UCR and I drove from the Bay just to be front row. I still remember coming home, downloading Friday Night Lights, closing my eyes and listening front to back trying to absorb it. His music wasn’t just music to me. It was a cheat code to life. It taught me how to think, how to move, how to chase a dream. Every drive was Cole. Every girl I dated got sick of it and after every breakup I’d get the same text: “A Cole song came on today, thought of you.” Funny enough, every YouTube video I ever posted ended with the instrumental to Return of Simba. That song meant everything to me. I’ll admit there were times I crossed into full STAN territory. In 2018, after everything fell apart in my life, I convinced myself and the world that I had to walk out and introduce Cole at one of his shows. Why? God knows. I bought tickets to 5 shows across the country, met security, had the strangest spiritual conversations with people who somehow knew him. I got close. This included trying to deplatform his critics (as he tried to do to me; in addition to false-flagging my YouTube channel, he successfully got me banned from Medium and may have gotten my website taken down in 2019 through false reports to my webhost), viciously attacking anyone who criticized him even mildly, no matter how obscure they were (as Andy Nowicki reveals in a recent video), and manipulating others into defending him publicly. If you ever got into an online argument with Jim Goad and he felt like he was losing (aka every argument), you'd immediately get dogpiled by a bunch of his friends and exes backing him up. Goad even severed relationships with people he felt were insufficiently willing to defend his honor. For years, he bragged that my ex Ann Sterzinger was going to write a tell-all book about me that would completely destroy my reputation, most recently in a 2022 podcast with Greg Johnson (I believe he ALSO brought it up in an 2023 interview with Ethan Ralph, but don't quote me on that). Sterzinger confessed in private messages that Goad pushed her to write the book to "save his reputation" and became violently angry with her when she never finished it. She also denounced him as a narcissist following the end of their friendship, accused him of lying, said he would complain about "how the fame he pretends he never really wanted never really came his way," and claimed that in 2018, he manipulated her into "pretend[ing] to be OK after being raped" so he could use her as a weapon in his upcoming "debate" with me. Sterzinger also admits that Goad would privately shit-talk his supposed "friends," claiming he shit-talked Gavin McInnes to her and shit-talked her to McInnes. This is corroborated by emails I exchanged with Goad's former friend/co-host Keith Lee. The fact that me and others may have played a role in his depression and suicide makes me feel terrible, even if I was justified in attacking him for what he tried to do to me. I discussed this with a friend and he hypothesized that as Goad's health worsened, it stripped him of his usual coping mechanisms and forced him to confront his personal traumas and lifelong abusive behavior, and he simply couldn't cope. The real bomb in his brain was not his tumor, but his guilt. In any event, if there's an afterlife, I hope he's found some peace.

Jim Jarmusch on how he got the idea to make "Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai" (1999): "It really came about from wanting to work with Forest Whitaker, who I met when I was going to the Super-8 lab when I was working on 'Year of the Horse' (1997), or maybe on the video. I ran into him a couple of times and we would just start talking and he said to me the first time, "Hey, if you ever think of anything for me, let me know, I'd love to work with you." I couldn't get him out of my head, certain qualities that he has and it was more from talking to him as a person than his work. I was very, very moved by his portrayal of Charlie Parker in 'Bird' (1988). I thought it was a beautiful performance, although I'm a big be-bop fan and I did not like the movie in terms of its slant on depicting the life of Bird - how can you make a film about Bird in which Miles Davis is never even mentioned? There were a lot of things really odd to me about it. Miles' estate probably refused to let him use his name. With good reason. They usually use this very soft, gentle, poignant side of Forest and he gets cast as the loveable soft guy. And I'm really attracted to that quality, but there is a whole other side to him, just physically, his presence, there's more there than that and I wanted to get both of those things in a character. So I started thinking how can I do that? He should be a warrior and I thought he should be a hitman, that sort of cliché and then the samurai thing came to me because in eastern-culture warriors, there is a whole spiritual side to their training. If you look at the Shaolin monks in China, they're martial arts experts, but they are priests; they are enlightened religious teachers, but the physical side is also completely intertwined. So that gave me the idea to give him some depth. Then the book 'Hugga Kurai', because it's a text from the 1750s written by an old samurai as a guide to samurai life and philosophy. It contains so many things, minor, mundane details about the food you eat, or how your house is built, how often you clean your armour, to incredibly deep Zen philosophy, and it's all in this book and it jumps from one to the next. Then I just started collecting disparate ideas; I was interested in the decline of organised crime families in New York because I used to live right across from the Gambino family social club in Little Italy, and in the late 70s and early 80s when they were unravelling, and I would always see them on the street - John Gotti and Sammy 'The Bull' Gravano and Neil Belacroche and all those wise guys. So I collected some ideas about them, and the idea of pigeons came from the fact that on the roof behind me, there was an old Italian guy who had a pigeon coop for years. He died just before we started filming actually, and his birds were moved away, but I used to watch him fly his birds a lot and there was something very beautiful in that movement. Sometimes I'd just look out the window on a Saturday morning and see them moving, and the light would shift and they would go from black to white to black to white to black to white, and that was a detail.
