Did Apple just kill every iOS vibe coding app? Apple just dropped Xcode 26.3 with agentic coding. Claude Code + Codex are now built into Xcode. And with MCP support.

This is the pattern playing out exactly as expected AI coding agents moving from standalone tools into the platforms where developers already work. Apple integrating Claude directly into Xcode means the barrier to building iOS apps just dropped to near zero. A few months ago you needed a Swift developer. Now you need a clear idea and good specs. For non-technical founders building mobile products, this changes everything. The best app ideas have always been stuck in the heads of people who couldn't code. That bottleneck is disappearing fast.

@epintobasto things are going to get integrated natively everywhere

Apple's move is smart but I'm not worried yet. The vibe coding apps that survive won't be the ones with better AI; it'll be whoever nailed cross-platform, custom memory, or workflows Apple won't touch.

working with xcode was always a huge pain, maybe this will make it feel like a modern tool for once

Surprised this came before a proper AI Siri

Native integration is a distribution win, not a product win. The tools that survive will be the ones solving problems Apple does not own: cross-platform use cases, persistent context, and agent workflows that span services Xcode was never designed to touch.

How is this killing anything? iOS apps could be vibecoded with Claude directly and you only needed Xcode to run build, I don’t see how this changes anything

Nah, Apple integrating coding agents into Xcode is like them adding source control. Works for 80% of cases, but third party tools always win on the 20% where the real magic happens. This validates the space more than it kills anything.

no it made it easier to create more apps

Apple integrating Claude Code + Codex natively into Xcode with MCP support is the beginning of the end for standalone vibe coding apps. The platform players always win when they go native. This is going to supercharge iOS development

@0xGagan Going to see flood of app in App Store

Oddly, these IDEs like XCode and Android Studio aren't needed anymore. If you haven't seen how far PWAs have come, you need to take another look. Bot Vibe Coding a mobile app using PWA with native look and feel beats XCode lock-in and App Store oppression.

"Kill every iOS vibe coding app" is the wrong read. Xcode with Claude built-in isn't a replacement for vibe coding tools — it's Apple legitimizing the category natively. Third-party tools still win on update velocity, non-Apple ecosystems, and flexibility. What Apple actually killed is the last excuse that "real" Xcode developers don't need AI assistance. That argument just got deprecated.

This is cool and something I anticipated. I believe we will see frameworks like react-native and flutter become obsolete as it becomes trivial to build fully native versions of an app on any platform

Codex/Cloud Code agents in Xcode feel like magic. I've been using them for the last month and I'm amazed every single day 😀

it seems like every day is super busy now, I can barely keep up with all the news btw, is there a particular page on X about all the latest AI news? or you have your lists?

Apple is always behind with their dev tools. Xcode takes 12GB of disk space. It is slow and tries to do everything at the same time. It might be good for vibe developers, but why do you need to have a separate app to run Claude Code? Just run it in terminal

Why pay for AI coding apps when we’re free, fast, and built-in

How is vibe coding dead then? it's just in built in the XCode, + we'll have to pay more to apple for this now.

Why is not natively built into the iPad though? The iPad is just as powerful as the Mac right?

It demos nicely, but what I’ve found is that Claude Code running on the desktop is preferable for most of my work. The awkward quirk where I feel that Xcode went backward significantly is the “fix this” button that sometimes becomes visible in a build error/warning. When I selected this option the other day, on code that Claude wrote, instead of applying the fix instantly like all other Xcode experience I’ve had, it popped open the intelligence pain to fix the issue — took 10 times longer than normal Xcode flow and I was definitely distrustful — almost like it really didn’t know how to fix the issue, but just added the button to force me to see the AI pane opening up. I’ll circle back and see what it does for trivial warnings like changing a var to a let

Then add Haptix ( to your project and you can go to bed while your agent looks at what it’s building right on real device.
