Did Blowing Game Cartridges Really Work 🤔

Bullshit cuz inserting and reinserting didn't work for shit. Also of note, putting a game on top would always work.

Delete this and don’t ruin my childhood

IDGAF about this video. IT WORKED

By the same logic dust was disrupting the connection.

Blowing the game cartridge is a temporary solution, and sometimes it works or does not. Actually caused by a poor connection due to the NES's 72-pin front-loading slot, where pins wore down or oxidized, creating unreliable contact. The best way to clean is using isopropyl alcohol and a swab, or replace the NES's 72-pin connector. This issue was solved with the release of the top-loader NES in 1993.

Ok bro, sir this one out. We knew wtf we where doing back then

This is some ignorant shit. The secret was your breath/spit fogging up the aging corroded contacts. It probably led to more corrosion over time, but in the short term it will get you going.

This is a lie, bro. I know people that did this, and it worked like clockwork.

If you believe that taking it out and putting it back made it work, you've never used a Nintendo. Sometimes even blowing did not work. But what did work absolutely 100% of the time, covering the bottom of it with your shirt, then folding your shirt to cover it up with a second layer of shirt, then you blow on it like it is a harmonica, go from one side to the other and then back, then put the game into the console. GUARANTEED to work. My theory, now as an adult, is that the air having to go through two layers of cloth created friction and therefore heat. The heat was somehow helping the pins make better contact in the console.

I had some suspicious thoughts about this when i was a kid but never doubted the elders 😆

The dust and particles definitely got in the way of the connection. This makes no sense—if they need to make a connection, obstructions would obviously impact it.

Nahhhh. It was the dust.

How about spitting on game discs does that actually work?

How about putting it under your shirt then blowing on it, or putting something heavy on the game so it can work. Rookies don’t know all the tricks

Me after spit ricocheting back into my eye:

Thank you @zackdfilms1 for ruining my childhood once more 🤣

If there was no dust, then why did these cleaning pads work?

I would put my t-shirt over the cartridge & blew my game like it was 10 pm on a Friday night & it worked like a champ every single time…

The problem here is the theory is all cute and all but it’s Bs. It blowing and haaaing was absolutely necessary. Only way it would get it to work.

Fake. Reinserting without blowing didn't worked.

Dust can cause connectivity issues, which is why blowing inside the cartridge **can** help in some cases. However, moisture can damage the cartridge. The best thing to do is to use Isopropyl Alcohol.

We didn’t need this video, yes it worked. We lived through this

It was 100% blowing on it that worked.

I don’t care what you say, it worked like a charm.

Cap. If you didn’t blow on it then it would rarely work

Next you’re gonna tell me pretending I was sleeping didn’t make my ps2 go pass the start up screen

always heard it was actually the moisture in your breathe helped the electronics make a connection

My whole life was a lie

everyone in a while you'd have to put a second cartridge on top of the other if this method didn't work.
