The British equivalent is the queen paying £12 million so Andrew could avoid a court case in New York for sex trafficking a minor

Correct, Rory. There is no material difference in the ways in which the legal system has been used against Donald Trump and Hunter Biden. Both men have clearly broken the law, but cases have been brought against them at the behest of political opponents because of who they are.

It was a case of Pardon or offer him up to the revenge of Trump. Understandable. Oh, and move to Bluesky.

Yes, as Trump was coming for him. Take out if it was right or wrong it’s his son. Not a fan by the way.

Trump has indicated that his people will go for "enemies". Hunter is surely near the top of the list and a very easy target. President Biden would be very callous not to pardon him in such circumstances. It will make zero difference to what Trump does.

The issue isn't the pardon itself, the issue is the scope of the pardon, from the specific dates..

No. If he truly believed his son was being targeted he should have dealt with that more robustly and considered getting him out of the country and out of harms way meantime.

Well, of course he didn't, but that's about to be eclipsed by Trump giving pardons to those who ransacked and killed at the Capitol in 2021
