The author names himself John four times (Rev 1:1, 1:4, 1:9, 22:8) and states he was exiled on Patmos for the word of God (1:9). Early 2nd-century witnesses (Justin Martyr, Irenaeus, Clement, Tertullian) all identified him as the Apostle John. Few New Testament books have earlier or stronger external eyewitness testimony. So yes, John wrote the Book of Revelation.

You quoted John 1:19 about Elijah, the Prophet, and the Messiah, but you forgot to read John 6:14. After seeing the miracle Jesus performed, the people said, ‘This is truly the Prophet who is to come into the world.

More errors than X allows space for. You just argued true prophets must agree. Yet Muhammad arrives 600 years later rewriting major accounts from Adam through Jesus and even denying the crucifixion. By your own standard, conflicting theology disqualifies Muhammad.

The clip leans on John 1:19–21: John the Baptist is not the Christ, not Elijah, not “the Prophet.” Then the usual dawah move: therefore “the Prophet” is still coming, and that slot is Muhammad. The caption about who wrote Revelation is a different question taped on the same video. Neither move works. In that scene the priests are using first-century Jewish categories. Some expected Messiah, Elijah, and a prophet like Moses as distinguishable figures. John denies being any of them. The Fourth Gospel does not then leave the third title empty for a man in the seventh century. It immediately points the same title at Jesus. After the feeding, the crowd says, “This is indeed the Prophet who is to come into the world” (John 6:14). Others say, “This really is the Prophet” (John 7:40). Acts 3:22–26 applies Deuteronomy 18 to Jesus, not to a later Arabian messenger. So the book you are quoting already fills the category you want to keep vacant. John the Baptist’s “no” is not a prophecy of Muhammad. It is a witness clearing the stage for the one whose sandal he is not worthy to untie, the Lamb of God in the next verses. Reading a 600-year gap into “I am not the Prophet” is eisegesis. It treats a denial by the Baptist as a job posting. Authorship of Revelation is a real historical discussion. Some in the early church distinguished John of the Apocalypse from John of the Gospel. Disputed attribution of one book does not rewrite John 1, and it does not make Deuteronomy 18 a prediction of Muhammad. If uncertain human authorship were enough to retire a text, you would have to retire large parts of the hadith corpus and every report about how the Quran was gathered. You do not apply that acid to your own sources. You apply it to the New Testament when you need a gap. So: John 1 does not teach a third figure after Jesus called “the Prophet.” The Gospel that contains the question also answers it. Revelation’s author is not the lever that turns the Baptist’s denial into the shahada. The attempt is a vacant-slot argument. The slot is not vacant in the book you cited.

You don't need the excuses not to believe right now. Jesus still invites you to come to Him who died for you and rose again. He is your only hope for eternal life. JESUS IS ALIVE. So talk to Him in your own language. He understands and cares about you.

He wrote it 100 years after the fact when life expectancy during early Christianity was only 30-35 years. I have no ideas who was John then
