Did Michael Carrick take an unnecessary risk leaving Bruno Fernandes on for the full game against Sabah? 🤔

Knowing Fernandes, he probably wanted to stay on as he thought he could get another goal or two

Manchester City will have two extra days rest than us before the Manchester Derby on Sunday. Our captain was seen limp out of Old Trafford after the game. I'm not sure why Carrick kept Fernandes on for the entire match when we were 3-0 up at half-time. He should have substituted him... #Ucl #Mufc

yeah, that felt daft. if you’re 3-0 up against Sabah, you don’t leave Bruno on for a full 90 like it’s a Wembley final in January at the Valley.

Bruno’s stamina’s like a slow-cooked stew—better the longer he’s in the pot.

Carrick’s got that temporary genius aura, next thing you know he’s playing Bruno 90 every week and we’re fucked.

Ha... Why do you keep trying to attack Man Utd's Michael Carrick? Would he want to be substituted? Bruno Fernandes is already recovering when you’re exhausted and gasping for breath, Unlike you, he uses the energy of his entire body only when necessary to distribute the overload

@BBCMOTD it’s early in the season Bruno needs the minutes to get fit he didn’t have a proper preseason

Leaving Bruno on was bold in the way only a manager with a seatbelt can be bold.

Full 90 vs Sabah is not the risk. Minutes vs City on Sunday are.

Carrick probably wanted to keep the captain sharp, but 60–70 minutes would have been enough in a game that was already under control.

Let do it right

Maybe a little risky. At 3-0 up before halftime, Bruno could have been protected with the Manchester derby coming up.

Carrick making the Maa U we wanttt

4-0 and no injury, so the decision paid off this time. But I’d have preferred a rest after the third goal.

Exactly. 100 percent. Why would he not be taken off after 60th minute? Does not make any sense

That said, Bruno is the engine of this United side, taking him off too early can also disrupt momentum.

if bruno's still walking off after 90 then the risk was already there, no need to invent one now

lol… arm chair critics finding a negative to create a narrative in a 4-0 champs league victory
