I don't think so. There was some other old timey dancers who did it first. I saw MJ live, front row and he was a phenomenal dancer. His physical movements were wild and different.

Are you kidding ? My father told me that back in 82/83 a lot of kids were already doing what you call "Moonwalk". Michael Jackson just made it better for the Billie Jean final on stage.

Pretty sure he claimed to have been inspired by the mime, Marcel Marceau, who performed a similar move since the 40's.
