No, absolutely not sold on Austin Simmons being the guy. But Beau was not the guy either, at least for us. We had some protection issues that made life hard on Beau, but he also had some serious decision-making problems that led to big turnovers. I'm not smart enough to tell you if that's on Beau or if Kirby didn't give him the guidance he needed. Seems like a great kid, awesome athlete. Running behind that offensive line at UVA is a much better fit for him.

@BFW @Blutman27 @BFW did you watch Pribula last year? He had 3 TDs and 7 INTs in SEC play. He was awful. And no he wasnt good before he got injured. Lost us the Alabama game with 2 picks, 0 TDs 2 picks against Auburn, and led the offense to 3 points in 2.5 quarters against Vandy before injury.

Another terrible take. Mizzou ranked 106th in the nation at passes over 20 yards last year. 15th in the SEC in pass effiency. That is HARD to do when you have an elite rushing attack - the one is supposed to help the other. In Beau’s defense, he was hampered by poor play calling. Taking a shot at Simmons for losing a job when he was hurt? Trinidad took that spot and never looked back, a true Kurt Warner/Trent Green moment. Beau folded against all SEC teams. Yay, he put up numbers against an ACC school, and I’m sure he will even have a fine season but the SEC was too much for him last year and it was too much of a risk for Mizzou to roll the dice with him again. A lot of unknowns with Simmons! Mark me down as scared and horny, but I think it will be a step up from a pure pocket passing perspective.

@BFW @Blutman27 What was Missouri’s weakness last year? Top running game and top defense. So what could have led to a 7-5 season. Maybe the fact Beau struggled as a passer in the SEC. He’ll be good in the ACC but the revisionist history that he was really good last year has to stop

@BFW @Blutman27 Mizzou’s offense asked him to do a lot more than what they are going to ask him to do at Virginia. Virginia is also embracing his running ability much more than Mizzou did. I counted 5 different QB designed run schemes on Saturday
