J.T. Poston admitted he didn't feel great about his golf through the first 13 holesof today's final round at the Memorial. He had a four-shot lead. With five to go, he was one behind. How did he motivate himself? "I'm not a quitter, so I hung in there and I just told myself -- I mean, I hit a great putt on 13, right where I wanted and just didn't fall. But I told myself on 14 tee -- I was one back with five to go, still felt like I had a chance. I needed to play the last five holes really well. "And I told myself I knew I was going to be shaking Mr. Nicklaus's hand walking off 18 no matter what, and I want to be proud of the effort when I did. So just to do it the way that I did, birdieing three of the last five, is a dream come true and something I'll certainly carry with me the rest of my career."

I would only blame myself if someone kept taking food off of my plate and eating it. It’s because I didn’t set clear boundaries at all. To be honest I couldn’t even be mad about this because it would be my fault this even happened. But you know very well I’m going to learn my lesson. She obviously is very comfortable doing this, he doesn’t seem to be firm about not letting her do it, the only one he can be mad at is himself. I think he will think twice about continuing to let her get away with it. Years ago, my brother used to do this to me and when I confronted him he laughed but he never stopped doing it, it got old really quick, I was annoyed because it felt like a bullying tactic. It got to the point one day that i had had enough, I made my plate and I dumped a bunch of salt into it knowing he was going to try to eat my food. After one bite he spit it out and he learned his lesson. He never did it again. But he still got mad I did it. Personally I think he was more mad he got caught if anything. I think a simple solution is to double order, that way if someone eats all my food I still have a back up, that could work right? But a part of me feels like that shouldn’t even be necessary. What would you do if someone kept eating off your plate? Would you put your foot down or just stay silent in hopes they don’t do it again. I think I am going to start just smoking more meat on the grill and keeping that up. I always make so much and if people wanna have some I still have plenty.

I want to win the Vezina trophy, and I want to be a starting goal for team USA at the Olympics. And none of those three things happen. So I think it's important to set big goals for yourself. And obviously those are three really hard things to do, but I think I can do it. And I think when I look back at the season, I think I'm proud of the regular season I had, I think any time you go 35 and 13 year, I would take that the rest of my career, if I could. So I'm proud of the regular season I had, obviously had games I didn't like, as everyone does throughout the course of the year, but I think for the majority of it, I helped the team win and made a difference. Bu I think like there's another level that I can get to, and I have a lot of things I need to look at that I need to change and get better at if I want to achieve those goals and help this team win. Joe Rogan says he called Theo Von to apologize for his comments last week where he voiced concern for Von’s mental health. Rory McIlroy came into the first FedExCup Playoff event from a long layoff. He then shot rounds of 74, 70, 72 and 72 to finish 66th. After the final round, he reacted to the week: “Obviously didn't come in here with a ton of reps, almost felt like the more the week went on, the more I felt lost with my golf swing a little bit. “I figured it out a little bit the last few holes today, I think. Scottie Scheffler has made golf look easy over the last few years, but he’s clearly frustrated with his game this week: “I felt like I was going to shoot about 90 today. “I don't know if you were out there on the course, but I was going to be hard to find if you were out watching my group. I felt like I got my first birdie putt of the day on the 13th hole. I maybe had one on 11, but I couldn't imagine I hit more than six or seven greens today. So around this golf course, with heavy rough and deep bunkers, you got to be hitting the ball in the right spots and for a long time today that was definitely not the case for me.” Scottie was visibly frustrated yesterday at the Memorial and had a long, heated discussion with his caddie Ted Scott after dunking a ball into the water. After rallying with 3 birdies in his last 6 holes today for a level par 72, he currently sits T20 and he was asked how proud he was to comfortably make the cut after looking in danger earlier in the round: “I think I grind like that every day. I think that's just part of the game. That's maybe some of the worst I've hit it in a couple years out there and I still managed to shoot even par around a golf course that requires to you strike the ball really well. Yeah, I'm definitely very proud of stuff like that. “This tournament was one that definitely could have got away from me, but right now I'm only nine shots back and still have a chance going into the weekend. Dylan Harper's mindset for tomorrow: "Desperation. I think for me I feel like I'm at my best when I play with that type of desperation and I think that's what's kind of needed for this occasion.
