no blue checkmark, just saying nonsense for the love of the game ig 🥀 in both the movie AND book grace is given the choice to go back to earth and he just doesn't by the end of either. it's implied he enjoys his life on erid and may never go back

People really misunderstood the ending. Grace wasn’t forced back he chose to stay. That’s the whole point

it's literally said by rocky that the ship is ready for a journey back but grace chooses not to go/is implied to do that?

whole point of the ending is showing how his life on earth was what he was perfectly satisfied with. he was happy with his friends and his kids and his job. he never wanted to go to space, but it was required of him. now he can live in peace without any expectations of him

It got a community note about attention farming … it’s especially funny because the poster doesn’t have a blue tick so gets no money from it 😂

Grace saw how dumb people can be on X and decided to willingly stay there instead of coming back to earth

the whole point of " Can i think about it ? - Yes, think about it Long time. :) " was to give the idea yes the ship is ready but he's choosing to stay there

sometimes i wonder if people watch movies with the eyes closed....

HE STARTS THE MOVIE BEING A SCHOOL TEACHER , HE ENDS THE MOVIE BEING A SCHOOL TEACHER it's textbook "hero's journey" the time skips makes 1 and 4 out of order but its still the same format.

Yeah, he's temporarily with the Rocky aliens and then he's going to go home once they figure out how to refuel and fix his ship to do so. He's a hero on both planets.

This is somehow worse

Idgaf what they say, grace was happy, bro had the hero journey, got a best friend, doing what he loves ,

this shits KILLING me dude

Those bait accounts gotta pay the bills huh lol That could aaaalmost be argued for Book Grace since his life on Erid was much harder than Movie Grace, but he still loved it on Erid and felt great satisfaction from teaching the Eridian students and learning that Sol was healed.

genuinely forgot this was a response to someone being an idiot and watched the entire thing because the ending of this movie is very sweet and puts a smile on my face

HAH, yeah, that was a pretty clean happy ending. That's still my favorite movie of the last decade. It would definitely have ranked even if there was any competition.

Wh.. did this person miss like the last 20 minutes of the film??????

Idk how he ended up with this conclusion while having a pfp of Columbo—and character who is famously able to make perfectly logical, intuitive and sound conclusions 💀. we don’t claim this guy

I'm sorry, but how does this dude see living rent free on another planet and being free from the burdens of human society like taxes and paying to breathe not a happy ending???

yeah that read misses the whole point of why he stays there willingly

Watched the movie with their eyes and ears closed I guess

The movie leaves it ambiguous, but the book establishes he chooses to remain on Erid for the rest of his life.

Love how Rocky beats the ever loving fuck outta Graces door

in the books he semi lamesnt earth and is relatively/physically an old man because of the gravity. its a beautiful ending to an absolute fantastic sci fi epic.

Lu ampe kesel 😭

defending phm like my life depends on it 😭😭

I hate these snobs 😭 i'm saying this sebagai org yg editannya despair mulu top 4 nya despair mulu. They have no whimsy 😭

While I completely disagree with the guy, an ending can 100% be a tragic ending even if the main character is happy.

He was told he's ready to go back and he choose to stay longer at the end

As soon as I saw the “students” I said he is home. He ain’t going back to earth.

Aquí está tu respuesta a ese y a otros miles de twits que veas en el futuro

Like isn't he CLEARLY happy and content on Erid?!!!

We definitely watched different movies 😂 The ending is wholesome and hopeful!

What's not good? Grace gets to live out his days with his best friend? From what they talk about after, he makes a bunch of other friends.

The only unhappy detail in the ending is a bit freaky but logical, well at least in the book. If you haven't read the book, just google "me-burgers".

The ending is well. No problem there. He made his sacrifices and still is in a happy place. See my honest review:

Bro managed to trigger every movie critic on the internet. 💀
