What you say is true, the way you present it makes it sound like he was literally taking the cars from the tower collapse scene. That is not true, after the cars were towed away and put into a lot he forged titles saying they were crushed and then gave them to his family.

William Bennette was a 9/11 Secret Service hero who won a Medal of Valor at 7 WTC. However, in April 2004, he was arrested for saving 5 government-owned fleet cars from Ground Zero debris slated for the scrapyard and giving them to family. A judge later gave him probation.

2 observations from this video from Evan Fairbanks raw footage 9/11. First, did you know that there was a large concourse underneath the WTC complex. Those who worked in the towers regularly walked these underground routes to get to work in towers, catch their PATH trains, shop, and grab lunch. Workers in the towers used these routes to evacuate to streets several blocks away from the wtc complex, however these routes would be destroyed by the collapse of the wtc2 tower, forcing those to look for other exit options. Secondly, notice at the beginning of the footage, those are FBI agents questioning Evan and the footage he collected. They actually take him into their offices to have a “discussion”, which we don’t know what took place exactly since there was never any audio. This was all while the 9/11 tragedy was unfolding above. Very interesting.

Most of the evacuation is taking place on Church and Fulton street. One block down, Dey St, empty. Uninterrupted views of the WTC plaza. He crosses Church street and into the plaza, hugging the corner of WTC4 to shield himself from the falling debris on the east side of the south tower. He tells Jules, “you stay with me”. The lobby windows of wtc1 were already blown out, and immediately upon entering there was a victim who was getting into the elevator when jet fuel ran down the shaft all the way to the lobby. Jack is accompanied by a man through much of his footage, you can hear him and also see him briefly in a reflection. “This is worse than the Hindenburg (disaster) today. The more photos you get, the more they’ll live forever”. I think he was purposely not identified. Some said he was insensitive in some things he said throughout the footage (not included here). Did he survive? Why was he there and what was his story? We will never know .. 2) Jack gets as close as you could possibly be. He enters the plaza, and hugs wtc4 as he pans up the south tower. It not only provides never before seen footage, but much clearer film that was previously broken and incomplete. This includes the firefighters all returning back to the station following the 9/11 attacks, what that first night looked like, raw conversations amongst the men, and working “the pile” as seen here. It also provides what I believe is a clear shot of Bill Biggart in his final moments before tower 2 came down.
