Ok, the receptacle plate hack is totally unnecessary. With the cover plate off just freehand around the opening. Don’t need to tape it.

Um, okay. So you take the wall plate off to tape it and then paint next to it. Why not just paint the entire wall to the hole while the plate is off and then put the plate back on? And save the planet by not using that 8” of tape each time. Because, you know, the children.

The electrical outlet was dumb. He took if off, could of painted around the outlet. Put the cover back on. No taping needed.
