This is one of the six #Ganapati temples of ancient Tulunadu. 👍 This is in Northern Kerala. I read that the temple also offers #Veda classes to young vatus. 🙂 The accommodation and food for the vatus are arranged by the temple authorities. 🛕 Originally it was a Shiva temple, but its said that a boy drew pic of Ganesha on the southern wall one day. And then the Ganesha kept growing chubbier with each passing day. So Ganesha Vigraham here is South-facing. The temple apparently also survived Tipu Sultan’s attack. 👍

One more submerged temple which has re-emerged. Palasnath temple 🛕 Maharashtra 🙏 This temple is atleast 1000-years old. The temple is located close to Pune. It was under the reservoir water gor over 46 years. Now that the water level has gone down the temple is visible again. Towards the end of the video the complete temple is visible.

#WATCH | Tirumala, Andhra Pradesh: The doors of Tirumala Venkateswara Temple reopened following the conclusion of the lunar eclipse. In view of the eclipse, temple authorities had suspended darshan for nearly 10 hours, from 9:00 am to 7:30 pm, and closed the temple as per established religious customs. After the eclipse ended, priests performed traditional purification rituals, including Shanti Puja, Punyahavachanam, and other sanctification ceremonies, in accordance with temple traditions. Following the completion of the purification process, Sarva Darshan for waiting devotees was scheduled to resume from 8:30 pm. With the temple purification concluded, the distribution of meals to pilgrims also recommenced at the Matru Sri Tarigonda Vengamamba Annaprasadam Complex in Tirumala.

After failing with this attempt, he damaged the temple with shovels, hammers, chisels and other objects. Harinath had hired five other accused to vandalise the Abhaya Anjaneya Swamy temple. All arrested. Reason: Abhaya Anjaneya Swamy temple’s priest had differences with the priest of Kanugunda Swamy temple (Pujari Harinath) over sharing of the temple income. Harinath wanted to take Abhaya Anjaneya Swamy temple under his control to get its income but priest Vidyasagar did not agree. Angered over this, Harinath planned to blow up Anjaneya temple with explosives thinking that this would force the priest to vacate the Anjaneya temple. The police clarifies that there is absolutely no communal angle involved in this.

This video is of my #gramadevata temple in Fatorpa, Goa. Shri Devi Shantadurga Kunkallikarin. The original temple was in my ancestral village of Cuncolim. In 1583, Portuguese missionaries and forces destroyed the temple. The local people fought hard and transported the Devi Murti to its present location in Fatorpa, where the temple exists till today. It is a beautiful temple surrounded by verdant greenery. The annual #jatrotsav is going on now. There is SO much more to Goa than just the beaches! Rohan Khaunte Dr. Pramod Sawant
