Did you know this was a thing?

Yes I saw this a few years ago. It's amazing we need these in UK.

Have you ever listened to this?

Yeah. Its the modern equivalent of leaving a baby on the church steps. Been around for a long time

Yes. There are too many people who kill their babies or just throw them in a dumpster or something because they don't want them or can't take care of them. So they came up with this 30+ years ago to hopefully save the babies by giving people a way to get rid of them anonymously without harming/killing them and without being subject to being prosecuted for a crime. As someone said, it's the equivalent of leaving them on the church steps.

It’s hard work shopping with a baby

Yea, been around for a long time too.

The thing is, if you are literally *forced* to have a baby you don't want, and after having it, being charged for it and bankrupting you, it's a good thing to have, and it is safe for the baby.

Yes, in Italy, it's been used for decades and in historical documents, there are testimonies of similar but rudimentary systems in convents or churches with orphanages, for the people to leave the baby in a safe indoor place.

I saw one first on Chicago Fire which lead to me reading up on it. It's a brilliant idea but also a terrible indictment of society

Hundreds of years back in the uk 🇬🇧, particularly church based, convents

What the hell!?!?
