Did you know? In #FFXIV #DeepDungeon, any enemy (except mimics!) below 80% HP will NOT aggro you. A nice alternative use for the Protomander of Storms to get you out of nasty situations, like a treasure room on an exit.

Got a question since I'm a deep dungeon casual. Would this be applicable somehow on DDs outside of Orthos? Or is there no way to do this trick with treasure rooms except in Orthos?

Actually, I personally discovered this "tech" back in HoH specifically, when attempting to open Silver Chests (that go boom). PoTD/HoH it's less likely you can take advantage of this, but Auto-Heal Disabled + Landmines can sorta work!

Super handy to know! I'm planning on trying my climb again and will keep this in mind!

though i am curious.. if you drop them to 1 like .. 1 hp, any reasons not to attach them? would look like 1 aoe and they are all dead no? (or am i missing something about some mobs)

If you Storms w/o aggroing the enemies, they will proceed to regen their hp by 10% per server tick. The one exception is an "Auto Heal Disabled" floor. You *could* pull a couple -> storms > kill, as the aggroed enemies will *not* regen, but the above could be a safer option.

So while mainly applicable to orthos... works in any deep dungeon? That's incredible I've never known this after how long I spent in PoTD when I started.

It'll be super niche in PoTD/HoH, but these are the situations you could apply it: - Landmine Trap/Silver Chest explosion that hit's enemies (RNG) - Auto-Heal Disabled Floor, which applies to enemies (added in 6.3!) -> Landmine Trap/Silver Chest Explosion to drop their HP low.

Honest question, when would you choose this method instead of killing them all after one storm, since they’re at single digit HP anyway?

If this were Auto-Heal Disabled, ez kills. However, unless I had them aggroed & due to server ticks, there is a very high chance it will regen it's HP by 10% before I am able to register damage. You could mass pull -> witching > storms, but doing this could be far less risky.

Yoooo I never knew that I've been brushing up for an attempt at necromancer title
