I used to commute by train. Every single day a woman got on and immediately pretended to be asleep so the guard would ignore her. I knew most of the crew by this time and pointed her out one morning. Guard fined her on the spot.

Of course the passenger should pay. So you get the police to arrest them if they refuse to or can't pay. Not sure trying to physically remove them is the best course of action.

Reasonable force can be used. Which means limited force according to the situation. Pulling him off the seat and dragging him to the door is reasonable. Punching and hitting him is not. Unless he starts getting violent.

Respectfully there are two other issues. Primary is that policing by consent, is dead. Very few people side with authority because of the way they currently behave. Secondly, these are SIA people. Not rail employees, or Transport police. Third party contractors getting physical.

Fare evaders should be Arrested-Fined and forced to do Community Work and anyone else who wants to get involved by poking their Nose in with their opinions and attitude should be Arrested too!

These guards are door supervisors and are trained to level 2 physical intervention, by the @SIAuk they will also hold a RSAS accreditation from @BTP, reasonable force must be justifiably and reasonable, i would need to see the full video to see if resonable force is used!

Yea but this is dishonest framing- the price isn't going up because some negro didn't pay his ticket. To make such an argument would require the inverse to be true in say other industries like shopping centres; the price is going up regardless, because private enterprise has decided that is the price it wants to sell at, and as more people can not afford it, they will simply take what they need- whether its food or access to transport. And even if we ignore that and engage in hypotheticals, ok, pretend he never boarded the train/bus, would that equal a lower fare for everyone else? Nope, the fare if we believe in the free market is set by usage x profitability. And that second one is more the case in these firms that are PRIVATE COMPANIES. And they are (ARE) raking in a fortune in profits. Arriva for example took 156 million in profit pre tax (operating profit 127 million). So you cant make me feel sorry for the poor wittle companies, not even when its a foreign committing the infraction.
