Measuring the length in cm is the most reasonable

It's one of those 'I've always been curious about but never really cared enough to look it up' things. Cheers.

Don't EVEN get me started on the Celsius and Fahrenheit scales. Those guys played with mercury, and it shows.

ngl this always trips me up when i shop online, i just end up guessing my size and hoping for the best lol

See how stupid is to keep old units? We have SI since 1960, yet over 60 years later some still measure by 1/3 of inch (or even 2/3 of cm) shit... Use metric, nothing else makes any sense.

Ok that was good 😂😂😂

And a mile is four stadiums. A stadium is the distance a Roman Legion marches in 1000 paces.

Or enlisted

French here, all for using the japanese system, it just make more sense

I’ve learned more from this man than my 5th grade teacher

Omgg I wish we had a Japanese measuring system I hate shopping for any clothes and blanking on the size

I'm still at barelycorns...no wonder the world is a mess Also, does barleycorn unit get updated with increase in the barley length due to genetic modification for 'improved harvest'?

I like the centimeter idea of Japan, the only problem is we don't use the metric system. I always thought a size 12 was 12 inches. I guess not.

Brazil has a different scale. It's usually -2 numbers from European measurements. So a EU size 42 is a Brazil size 40 Don't ask me why

BRAS too!

EUROPEAN UNION!!! come help us out please and make the Mondo measurement obligatory.

reminds me of that SNL skit with george washington.

People bitch about globalisation? If it standardises shit like this, plus clothes, plus cables, plus ingredients in food? (None of the crap the US puts in theirs) Bring that shit on!

The takeaway here is that shoes have been a mistake and we need to return to a shoe-less society.

And yet, people insist that online shopping is the future for clothing and shoes

Don't care what they use along as it means never putting our feet in one of these again...

yeah im a 6 1/2 or a 7 depending on the brand 7 is a safe bet most of the time

This is great! Now do electrical outlets.

You’ll be shown ski boots 🎿 or enlisted 😭

That’s why you don’t buy footwear online unless of course it’s a model/brand that you already own or know its sizes bc you tried first on some shop or from a friend whatever

Will somebody please make an app for shoe sizing?

Now look at women's clothing. All different dimensions for the same "size" with no standardization whatsoever.

And when you get to half sizes. Good luck!

Incorrect! South Korea also uses mm.

"Standards"

i hope the eu will fix this

This is hell. World, please go japaneese.

In EU my size is 46 but I have no idea what that means.

As an intelligent species we are... At least special.

Even in ski boots is funny: 295 and 290 are actally the same sized boot. The lining is just thinner in the 295 to accomodate the larger foot.
