Have had a few days to reflect on the LSU game… this about sums it up. As long as we’re addicted to GROWING, I think really good things are going to find us. Housing is a human right. No one in this city should have to worry about losing their home or end up on the streets due to systemic issues. Homelessness and the housing crisis are not two different problems, they are two sides of the same coin. And they have the same solution – permanent affordable housing. Trickle down economics is a fallacy. The market cannot provide affordable housing. Prices are only going up, driving people into homelessness, or out of the city entirely. Rae will build social housing on public lands and speed up housing production citywide, cutting red tape while keeping in place tenant and homeowner protections to ensure that people are able to keep their homes. Rae will streamline the city’s housing strategy, creating a Mayor’s Office of Housing For All to consolidate these different departments under one roof, with a public dashboard to track progress and hold us accountable. Rescued From Despair 💔➡️ Safe at Last 💛 20 precious souls — 8 puppies, 4 adults, a blind mother with her baby, and another mother with 5 puppies — all rescued from a neighbouring city. They came from a place that was supposed to protect them… but became a nightmare instead. Healthy dogs are being euthanized there — and these 20 are the lucky ones who found safety with us. Many times, you’ve seen our rescue vehicles full of dogs we’ve saved from that same death chamber. Even with no space, no funds, and struggles beyond words, we couldn’t turn our backs. Please, help us continue saving lives that have nowhere else to go. 🙏🐾 ❤️ 🔗

Tomorrow marks the last game in a place that has been so much more than concrete and football for our family. This stadium holds decades of memories cheering together in the stands, so much fun and laughter, tears too, and watching generations of kids come through Jim’s football camp here for more than 30 years. So much life. So much joy. So many memories made together. While we’re grateful for all that’s ahead and the memories still to come, it’s bittersweet to say goodbye to a place that has meant so much to our family and countless fans who made every home-game (win or lose) the absolute best. Thank you for the memories. 💙❤️🏈 And as always GO BILLS!

To tackle our open air drug market, we have to take multiple approaches to cut off the supply. Drug dealers in San Francisco continue to adapt - from selling different drugs to operating out of different storefronts. Recently, City Attorney David Chiu in collaboration with San Francisco Police launched an operation to investigate - and shut down - Tenderloin corner stores that have been serving as fronts for illegal meth dealing. Over the last year and a half, these operations have resulted in lawsuits or closures of over a dozen such businesses. The families, immigrants, and refugees who live in the Tenderloin deserve to feel safe when walking down the street or simply visiting their neighborhood corner store. Operations like these will help to ensure that, and I will continue to work to support our public safety officials in accomplishing that goal.

I remain confident in what I can do. EXCLUSIVE: We embedded with a team of elite Boston based ICE deportation officers as they arrested four alleged child rapists & a violent MS-13 gang member in a single morning. ICE says their detainer requests on all of these illegal aliens weren’t honored by local jurisdictions due to sanctuary policies in Massachusetts. ICE tells me those policies allow illegal aliens charged or convicted with heinous crimes to roam the streets after release without any notice, and make their job more dangerous because they have to find & arrest aliens charged or convicted with aggravated felonies on the streets, instead of having them handed over in a safe environment like a jail. ICE Boston Field Office Director Todd Lyons calls the sanctuary policies “frustrating”, but says arresting multiple alleged child rapists and a violent gang member in one morning is a testament to his team. “That’s every day up here in Boston,” Lyons told me. “Those are the public safety threats we really want to get off the street. It was a great day, great day for the team. Five public safety threats that can’t victimize anyone anymore.” But Lyons added, ICE Boston can only do so much, given current staffing levels. “I don’t have enough officers or resources to tackle all these public safety threats,” he said. “Are we gonna go after the child rapist today, or are we gonna go after the twice deported fentanyl dealer? Because we can’t do both.”

On June 23 at approximately 4:55 p.m., a Redmond officer stopped a driver near NE 76th Street and 148th Avenue NE after observing them using a handheld phone while stopped at a red light. When the light turned green, the driver continued looking at their phone instead of the road, prompting the traffic stop for distracted driving. Due to an increase in collisions, Redmond Police officers are conducting emphasis patrols focused on speeding and distracted driving in the area as part of the King County Target Zero Coalition 100 Safe Days of Summer campaign. We're proud to partner in this regional effort through Labor Day to help keep everyone safe during one of the busiest travel seasons of the year. Driving a vehicle with Full Self-Driving (Supervised)? You're still the driver. These systems require your full attention, and Washington law prohibits using a handheld phone while the vehicle is in motion or under your supervision. You are 100% responsible for safely operating the vehicle and can receive the same distracted driving citation as you would in any other car. Please slow down, stay focused, and put your phone away.
