That's it. That's the derivative. It's not a trick. It's not a rule. It's a beautifully precise way of asking a very human question: what's happening, in this moment? We spent years solving these. Maybe it's time we actually understood them.$

Have seen a lot of people saying the Tatis throw shouldn’t have been cutoff last night. As the relay guy you line up in a perfectly straight line between the RF and the catcher. If the throw takes you too much in either direction you know the cut is needed. In this instance the throw took him a little too far to the left meaning the throw would’ve been too far up the line to have a chance. He made the right call to cut and relay it home. This is a perfect visual.
