Difficult challenging and indeed at times grim subject matter on the podcast this week but that is what going there is sometimes about.

It was a hard listen but thank you for going there. I do think more than anything else your podcast is a genuine public service and a stark contrast to the absurdity and obsfication of the GE coverage.

In general I like your episodes but this one wasn't to be particularly impartial. To argue that Israeli soliders making militants be held in their underwear is on par with the deliberate and planned rape on 10-7 seems to be a trying to make everything equal

@SayeedaWarsi brought up the idea that two things can be true at the same time, but remember that the opposite of that is drawing false equivalence. I think you (David) let Sayeeda get away with drawing false equivalence far too much. I think you do it to keep things cordial.

Baddiel: 'October 7 was a pogrom'. Is what Israel is now doing in Gaza a pogrom? I suppose not because it's not a riot. It's a genocide by a government. Palestinians were murdered and driven out of Palestine when Israel was formed. But Baddiel claims he's not pro-Israel.

Agreed 'Fear of using a trope getting in the way of the truth' is allowing Israel to commit ethnic cleansing and huge scale war crimes - the influence israel government has over uk government cannot be called out!!

Not only is subject matter very hard, managing conversations between the two of you is quite fraught. Sometime I am screaming at my pod (can one do that? ) but think you in particular do this very well.
