i'm writing my own gui framework in c++ and rewriting my image editor using it, which is going good so far, i wanted to move from swiftui, qt, tauri, electron, react native, and flutter so i can use metal and directx gpu apis on macos and windows as much as possible,so i think going full metal/directx is the way to go i know i have a very hard and long way to go though as there are many many flaws,bugs in this very very early version and doesnt utilize the gpu as much as i want to but i hope we will get there soon ,i also need to make the ui look somewhat decent instead of whatever mess it is right now

🚨 Phoenix just made history 🚨 Yesterday, in an 8-1 vote, the PHX City Council: ✔️ Approved the largest individual tax increase in the city's history. ✔️ Approved a tax increase for the first time in the city's history WITHOUT voter approval. The city council doesn't have to bring a tax increase to the voters but historically any time taxes were raised the city council chose to bring it to the voters. This time around the city council chose to break the mold and take matters into their own hands. And then they laughed about it. How it was the first time they had a simultaneous seconding of a motion from multiple council members because they were all just so eager to pass it. Disgusting! The only real Republican on the council was the only no vote. When Take Back Phoenix returns the majority to Republicans in 2026 we will repeal this tax increase and we will make sure our budget is properly balanced. Philadelphia Municipal workers are on strike More than 9,000 city workers now on strike after AFSCME District Council 33 was unable to reach a deal with Philadelphia on 7/1 The largest union for blue collar workers in Philadelphia has gone on strike. Services from trash pick up -to police dispatch -to street maintenance are impacted.
