Touch -> smell/taste -> balance -> hearing -> vision. This is the evolutionary order in which biological senses developed. The engineering difficulty roughly follows the reverse order. Vision is pretty easy now. But touch and smell are incredibly hard. Perhaps what took longer to develop are just a lot more complex (more hierarchies, more neural development, etc.)?

I genuinely don’t think I’ll ever leave Southern California (This is not definitive, just unlikely) Why? 🏝️ Beach is 20min away 🎡 Disneyland is 20min away 🏔️ mountains are 45min away ☀️ 70-80 degrees year round 🌯 chipotle on every corner Sure, I hear you about: - taxes - house prices - difficulty running a business with employees - traffic but it’s genuinely hard to outweigh the pros IMO.

Why low rep training feels "wrong" to most people: You finish a set of 5 heavy reps. No pump. No burn. Heart rate barely elevated. Could have a conversation immediately after. Brain says: "That wasn't hard enough." Then you finish a set of 15 reps. Massive pump. Burning sensation. Gasping for air. Sweating. Need to sit down. Brain says: "NOW we're working." Your brain is confusing systemic fatigue with muscular stimulus. The muscle was challenged adequately at rep 5. Everything after that was just making you tired. I finished Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound, found all collectibles, and completed all the secret bonus stages. My honest review: -The combat system is incredibly smooth and elegant -Every move is fully controllable, jumps are precise, and combat is fast and brutal -The default difficulty feels perfectly balanced – challenging but never unfair -Checkpoints are well-placed: you’re never set too far back, and respawning is immediate -The level design is diverse and creative, often ending in tough, sometimes screen-filling boss fights -Boss fights are true highlights – intense, demanding, and incredibly satisfying -After a while, I fell into a pure "destruction flow": anticipating enemy moves, zoning out, fully immersed -The level design contributes massively to this feeling – thoughtful, tight, and perfectly tuned -The pixel art is among the best I’ve ever seen – fluid, rich in detail, and beautifully animated -The sound design is equally impressive – the clash of blades sounds absolutely satisfying -On top of that, the soundtrack is a total banger – easily one of my favorite soundtracks of the year -The overworld is clean and intuitive, showing you clearly which levels you’ve completed and what collectibles are still missing -Long-time Ninja Gaiden fans will spot several clever nods to earlier entries -Action-packed set pieces break up the gameplay and add cinematic flair – a touch I really appreciated -The ability to switch characters in certain situations adds variety and depth to the gameplay -The normal difficulty is, in my opinion, perfectly tuned – but for those craving more, there’s a hard mode -On hard difficulty, enemy placement, level layout, and boss arenas are reworked to push your skills even further -Beating levels on hard was seriously tough – but the satisfaction of overcoming them was unmatched -Technically, the game runs flawlessly – I didn’t encounter a single bug throughout my entire playthrough -The secret and bonus stages are very well hidden and genuinely fun to search for -Collectibles can be used in a shop to buy new gear, talismans, and upgrades -However, I didn’t find the talismans particularly impactful – they didn’t change the gameplay much for me -I just wanted more – more levels, more content – but that’s just nitpicking Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound is unquestionably one of the best indie games of the year and my favorite title from The Game Kitchen, which says a lot. Ninja Gaiden 2D returns with a bang and continues the Year of the Ninja in spectacular fashion — a comeback we won’t be forgetting anytime soon. It's hard to overstate the level of hatred this mindset creates in men. Even I didn't get it. Maybe I still don't. But pay attention, because this meme or something like it crops up in the background all the time. The only way I can think to describe it is "Pre-Cucking". Which to us sounds kinda... out there, but men seem to have an intuitive grasp of it as a concept. Her: "How can you be jealous of men I slept with before I even knew you? Why aren't you happy that I want to build a relationship with you, rather than just sex?" Him: *face contorts in barely concealed rage* I suspect it comes down to a lack of empathy from her. We have a lot of difficulty wrapping our heads around his want to feel desired because guys rarely give us any indication that it's something they crave. They *express* desire and so don't convey a need to feel it... they just kind of are. I mean we "know" guys want to feel desired but we don't really view it as our responsibility, I guess? See? This whole phenomena is weird. It's why this meme or some variation of it keeps popping up. Because it's men TELLING US that this whole culture of pre-cucking makes them feel ugly and unwanted. Undesirable... even as we tell ourselves we're just trying to make better choices.
