Shashi Tharoor has been the MP for the last 15 years. He is not popular with the city folks anymore. Apart from a smiling face and Oxford English, he has hardly done anything for the growth of Thiruvananthapuram. People realize this, and there is clearly a wave in favor of Rajeev Chandrasekhar. During the last elections, the BJP lost the race due to the massive shift in coastal votes, in favor of the Congress. Rajeev Chandrasekhar understands this, and he is focusing his attention on these areas. In all likelihood, the Communists and the Congress will come together behind the scenes once again, to defeat the BJP. Let us see if they succeed this time.
