I am currently en route to Brussels for a special European Council meeting at the leadership level, where I will present our Victory Plan – a tool to compel Russia towards peace. European leaders will hear how we need to strengthen our positions to end this war justly. I am thankful to Charles Michel, President of the European Council, for Ukraine’s invitation. Meetings in the European Parliament are also planned – with President Roberta Metsola and the heads of political groups. I will also meet with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, and we are preparing for the “Ukraine-NATO” Council meeting at the defense ministers’ level. Our priority remains securing more protection for Ukraine ahead of the winter.

I will also meet with Taoiseach Micheál Martin and President of the European Council António Costa. Every day, Ukraine proves that it deserves to be an equal part of our shared European home. And we hope that during Ireland’s presidency of the Council of the European Union, we will be able to achieve tangible progress on the path to membership and open all negotiating clusters.
