This is the same principle that allows multiple data streams to travel through the same optical fiber without “bumping into” each other. In fiber “lingo” it’s referred to as the wavelength of the light, different wavelengths are different colors. Hope this is a value add.

I personally believe both. There were reports of flames coming from under houses and the ground that were not able to be extinguished. Like you said, the fires were a cover.
