disabled people are the buck that keeps getting passed. is it any wonder why we're mad? or why we're tirelessly advocating for ourselves? it's because we fucking have to.

If the technology we're seeing now has been around for longer than we know, then why are we getting access to it now? My guess is that it's because in 2016, humanity (whether knowingly or not) collectively had shown that it learned it's lesson and proven its readiness to handle the "AI revolution" without self destructing again.

This is why Trump is the president. This is why we can't have nice things. We're not going to make it, are we?

Why The Hell Do We Allow Advertising For Sports Betting? Or Casino Games? Or Lotteries? Or any form of gambling? Because for some it's a Financial Death Sentence We don't allow Cigarette Advertising because it kills people Why are gambling ads OK? It needs to STOP

Why does the NDP still have any kind of support in Alberta. The Notley reign of terror almost did us in. The only reason we're still strong is because Smith has been amazing at fighting Ottawa. We're regaining the Alberta advantage. We're different from other provinces, which is why we're the strongest. Why would we want to embrace the same failed policies that have hurt the East so much? I don't get it.

When disabled people ask “what happens to disabled people?” And we are met with “not everything’s about you?” This is what we mean. Have you seen any physically disabled people evacuated from Gaza? Because I have yet to. …and that is the point.

Ben McCollum: "I think sometimes, you have to be careful to not accept, like, okay, there's these basketball schools that are there. There's these football schools or whatever. Why can't you do something like that here? Why can't you? I think sometimes you may accept it and it's like, okay, well, this is just how we're going to show. And it's not how we're going to. We're going to get (Carver-Hawkeye Arena) full. Like, that's what we're going to do. We're going to fight for it until we can't anymore."

Dana White’s response to being criticized for using AI: “Why don't you just shut the fuck up and watch the fights? Why do you care what we're doing technology-wise? We still have to hire people to do this stuff. I'm not downstairs doing the fucking AI shit. We hire people that are doing it. AI is the future. It's coming. It’s here right now and we’re in.”

Active Duty US Army Gives Update On West North Carolina Hurricane Helene Victims Says the US Government is not letting them go help people on foot “We're talking about the government — They're not gonna let us go on foot. They're not going to. — Or the consequences will vary” “People are asking why don't we use animals or 4 wheelers and stuff like that. They have to approve whatever that they they have to approve it before we're able to do it. Does that make any sense? If they don't approve it, we cannot do it.” “There's a chain of command. We can only do so much that we can only do what we're allowed to do. Does that make any sense?” “We can't do it. So I think y'all need to understand that we're only doing what we're allowed to do and what we're told to do. We cannot do anything other than that. Or the consequences will vary.” “There's literally nothing I can do. I hear you. I hear your frustration. I get it. Also, people are saying civilians are doing this, that, and a third. You can do whatever you want because you're a civilian. We cannot do we have we have to answer to someone. I'm sorry. We have to answer to someone”

Just because "we've always done it this way" doesn't make it right. The people defending this policy is why we're in the mess we're in and why we'll never get out of it.

Prof. Michael Mann on Donald Trump blaming Canada for wildfire smoke: These forests that are burning in Canada are boreal forests. There are very few people there. They have not been managed historically. This has nothing to do with changes in fire suppression or raking or any of these other things that Trump and these other comedians are talking about. It's because it's hotter and it's drier and it's hotter and it's drier because we've warmed up the planet with fossil fuel burning and carbon pollution. And they don't want us to pay attention to that. That's why we have these antics. They want the story to be ridiculous. The more we're talking about that, the less we're talking about the true culprit, which is climate change, fossil fuel burning. And we have an administration whose environmental policies and energy policies are literally being written by the fossil fuel industry. So why would we expect anything different.

Stephen Curry says NBA players are underpaid: “The idea that we can't participate in equity while we're playing is a part of why I would say yes, we are underpaid. I know we're blessed to be in a position where we're playing basketball for a living, and these are the type of checks that people are earning. I think we deserve it.” (via Complex Sports , speedy)
