Reform UK has appointed Laila Cunningham as their London Mayor election candidate. Cunningham was almost the Conservative candidate for Rotherham in 2024, hosted an Iftar event while a Conservative councillor, went on Pride marches, and has since called those who don't want a Muslim Mayor of London "the far right". So, Londoners like me can look forward to voting between Pakistani Muslim leftist Sadiq Khan or Egyptian Muslim careerist Cunningham in 2028. She seems to have rote-learned platitudes about "British values" to get ahead in a party desperate not to be called racist. We deserve better. I'll be voting for whoever the patriotic English candidate is instead.

Does anybody else think Julia Hartley-Brewer is going over the top here as she interviews Laila Cunningham? It was gotcha after gotcha, and Julia seemed to be loving sticking the boot in. She nearly forgot to add that Harborne is British, over emphasising the Thai bit. Only a small percentage of the public watch TalkTV because they are right-wing, we have GB News too, but when Julia goes this hard at Reform it makes you worry about how the rest of the population is being fed this story by the BBC, LBC, Sky and ITV etc. As a TalkTV fan I am getting a little fed up with this. We will see more Muslim Mayors and administrators in the Burroughs and surrounding areas elected using Mamdani’s influence. There will be more Muslim police officers to enforce tyrannical leftist policies to crack down on speech and anti-Muslim sentiment. After Rupert Lowe launched Restore Britain as a national political party, Reform UK and their surrogates in the media spent two weeks calling Restore and their supporters neo-Nazis, far right, incels, and ethnonationalists. But now, Zia Yusuf, cosplaying as Shadow Home Secretary, is repeating verbatim Restore's talking points on immigration and Christian heritage. Reform are promising mass deportations — the same policy Nigel Farage called "very grave, dark and dangerous", and expelled Rupert from the party for proposing. Laila Cunningham insists Britain is a secular state, while Zia Yusuf says Christianity is "core to the history and the DNA of the country”, and without it "the country is not a country, it’s just an economic zone." Meanwhile, Nigel Farage still says being English is about "how you feel," and that any other position is "a really worrying, dangerous form of ethno-nationalism". I'm glad Reform are shifting rightwards. But why do Reform attack Restore as "far right" one week, then copy all their policies the next? Why would we elect Muslims to protect our Christian culture? How can we trust Farage to deliver when he's been dragged kicking and screaming to this position, and is still denouncing his own voters?
