Disney traumatized a whole generation with Bridge to Terabithia, honestly one of the saddest movies EVER 😭

Bridge to tear your fucking heart out

Idk. "My Girl" was sad as hell when I was little. Poor McCauly Caulkin got stung to death by a bunch of killer bees. Looking back at it now, it's actually pretty ridiculous.

Man fuck all that. I had to hear a baby gorilla scream while he was getting his ass eaten alive by a leopard in Tarzan. That shit was wild.

You had to remind me???

It is based on Katherine Paterson's novel of the same name. Her son David's best friend, Lisa Christina Hill, died on August 14, 1974, after being struck by lightning in Bethany Beach, Delaware, when she was eight years old. Years later, David produced and co-wrote the screenplay for the movie adaptation.

It’s a cinematic gut punch because it starts as a beautiful story about imagination and then completely blindsides you with that devastating shift in tone.

Like why'd she have to go out there alone man?

My sisters keeper Not something a young teenage boy would normally watch but I was home from school sick one day and I was too lazy to change the channel so ended up watching it and was the 1st time I shed a tear for a movie

I read this book when I was in fifth grade, and I think this was the moment I realized just how deeply the written word could touch me. I cried, and hard, when this occurred in the book. It would go on to instill such a love and respect for storytelling in me that will never break. Such a devastating story.

This only traumatized people who didn’t bother to read or familiarize themselves with the book prior to going to the movie.

kids today will never understand the trauma this caused

I mean I remember when they advertised it. Showing it as being the next "Narina" they really promated it as a Fantasy adventure fun time, With all the "Day dream" scenes. and when it came to the movie itself Terabithia was hardly, shown and it was a movie about overcoming death

"Next time.... we should bring Lezlie... she would really like that"

This one triggered me

I read this horrible book in 5th grade. I was so traumatized.

I didn’t remember how much of a wuss his mom was. Instead of being there for her kid she just cried and made it about her own worries 💀

And before that it was My Girl, that and manga are why I write childhood friend romance.

Bro when this came out I was traumatized asf asking my mom was the girl dying real 😂😂 wasn’t prepared for this so young

Cried my ass off for years man at the "next time lets invite her, she would want to go" scene when he was still in shock and disbelief. 😭😭😭😭

tf i was 10 and not ready for that ending

It was sadder in Middle school when we read it. Idk why they always made us read books with people dying in it.

Only movie made me shed a tear💯

Solid movie, still tear up to it. The book is even more impactful

What about all dogs go to heaven. Yeah. Gut punch

Ngl I never seen the ending bc I was so upset at this part

Disney? You mean the author or PBS. This is a remake.

I had to read this book in HS.

Isn’t that the same guy from five nights at Freddy’s? Right?

The way they marketed as a fantasy movie with kids and then we all walked out with our eyes burning from tears...

Hold up. The dad is T-1000 ?

Try watching the play as a child.

Saw the original tv movie in school as a kid. Made me real sad back then too.
