DisplayHDR True Black 1000 is here! Samsung Display unveiled the first one-glass-layer IT OLED panel with this certification at #COMPUTEX2025, delivering 1000 nits on a 10% window, & at least 500 nits full-screen. So far, no OLED monitor or TV can exceed 450 nits full-screen.

What does this mean for color accuracy?

iPad Pro can achieve 1000 nits of sustained full-screen brightness. Also ask them if they've ever heard of something called "Dolby Vision".

The iPad Pro uses a Tandem OLED with 2 layers, while Samsung Display’s UT One panel is based on a single glass layer design. Samsung Display (the panel maker) is separate from Samsung Electronics. SDC supplies OLED panels to brands like Sony whose TVs do support Dolby Vision.

I don’t understand the fascination with brighter Oled screens - I don’t turn on my full brightness since I watch movies in a dimly lit environment. I’ll take depth and color accuracy over brightness every time.

Impressive . As per recent Rtings review of LG G5 it touched 400 nits full screen. That's the closest for now
