And we direct a firm word to the employer: the one who knowingly hires the undocumented to work them harder and pay them less is not only breaking the law that employer is depressing wages, starving the fiscus, and sabotaging the economy and the peace of our communities. We see the challenges that exist now: the Iranian regime has effectively blocked the Strait of Hormuz – one of the main routes for supplying oil and gas to the global market. This is a major source of instability. No one in the world can yet say how long all of this will last, but it is important that the protection of life starts working effectively as soon as possible. Stability is important for us as well. Those now seeking Ukraine’s help must continue to assist our own defense – first and foremost, our air defense. Last year we already proposed a drone agreement to the United States. This is the right way forward: to partner with us in the production and use of drones, and everyone now sees that there is no alternative to this approach. After the last meeting in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, it has become absolutely clear to the entire world: Russia is the only one dragging this war out, the only one that brought it here—and the only one who needs it to continue. Since March 11, a proposal for an unconditional ceasefire has been on the table—and these attacks could have already stopped. But it is Russia that continues all this. Every night, every single day, it carries out the most cynical strikes. Without pressure on Russia, those in Moscow will continue to show contempt for real diplomacy and keep destroying lives. Today is the second meeting between the Ukrainian and U.S. teams in Saudi Arabia. This time at a more technical level—with our military, diplomats, and representatives from the Ministry of Energy. I’ve spoken with Rustem Umerov, who briefed me on the meeting and the course of negotiations. Our team is working in a fully constructive manner, and the discussion is quite useful. Our ancestors lived on their land for centuries.. and the fact that we were under Russian occupation for some time, and they artificially tried to destroy us and our culture, and Russify our country.. and also organized the genocide of Ukrainians (as one of the most striking examples is the Holodomor of 1932-33) with the purpose of destruction, does not make Russians the owners of our land, and does not make Ukrainians Russian, and Ukraine a part of Russia. . Many countries were under occupation... the borders of many countries were once different. But now, based on this, we will divide everything again? Well, then not a single country in the world will remain within its former borders. Even the United States, which was once a colony of other countries, or part of whose territory was once part of another country. But now it is a separate, great and independent country. And we respect it, and its people. And we want the same respect for ourselves.
