*distressing video* While there’s no description of vehicles for either flash flood fatality, there’s a video from where the failed rescue attempts occurred (Route 67 Oxford near the quarry walk) of a women driving a Jeep into flood waters. Turn around, don’t drown.

As cruel as it may seem, that's natural selection at it's finest. You have to be quite stupid to drive into raging flood waters like that.

I’m not 100% sure on the events leading up to it because the camera angle has her floating into frame. However her hitting the accelerator and turning left when she hits pavement was her last chance of escape. Both fatalities were older/elderly

I’m really upset to see the amount of victim blaming in these replies. We don’t know exactly what happened, and flash floods are - as the name implies - quite sudden and can catch anyone off guard. May both of the families of the victims find peace and healing. ♥️

First responder here. I can't tell you how many people decide to go around barricades and drive right into flood water. Every single time it floods, this happens. Turn Around, Don't Drown is not just some cute phrase. It's life or death.
