Dive into ‘Hwatu Harmony’ 🧵 [1] First, some backstory: I recently experienced burnout. I needed a break, and that's exactly what I did. I spent two full months with my parents. I usually visit for a week, but the last time I stayed this long was probably when I...

[2] This is what an original Hwatu card looks like. Each card features a different flower theme, and I’ve always thought these illustrations looked really cool. Though I didn’t plan to create any art during my break, playing this game and seeing these beautiful designs every day inspired me to make my own version.

[3] This is a player. The goal is to find matching cards and combine them to earn points. The player jumps from card to card, searching for the right ones, and experiencing the different themes of designs.

[4] Light & Dark I wanted to create two versions: Light, representing the younger generation (me), and Dark, representing the older generation (my parents). Light symbolizes the sun being up, full of energy and life, while Dark represents the sun setting, with a desire for peace and tranquility. (that's my mom playing the game)

[5] The number in the artwork represents the frame count of the animation. There are a total of 357 frames in the 30-second animation. Each frame will be printed as a unique piece, with no two being the same. More details about the drop later.

[6] Creating a still image is somewhat challenging for me as an animator since my mind is always focused on motion rather than a single frame. I had to ensure that every frame of the animation is visually appealing and works as a standalone piece of art that would look great on a wall.

[7] Though it’s not as self-explanatory as my other works, this piece is more personal. It represents bridging the gap between my generation and my parents' generation, helping us forget our differences and enjoy shared emotions. That’s why it’s called ‘Hwatu Harmony.’

[8] This work will be featured at @ArtBasel Hong Kong through @iconic__culture and will be available for purchase as a print both online and offline. More details coming soon.

🐨: When we all got together, we were like, so what is something that’s really us? We thought about that a lot, and we wanted to show where we started, I think. 🐨: All seven of us are also, all Korean, too, and we thought it would be good if something symbolizing Korea could be included together, and while thinking that, we ended up, uh, bringing up the keyword, uh, “Arirang.” 🐨: “Arirang,” of course, is kind of… honestly, everyone interprets it differently, since the lyrics are abstract. I think it’s a story about this lingering feeling, longing, and love. That’s what I think. 🐨: I think that’s something I actually thought about a lot while I was in the military. You end up thinking a lot about the past, You miss everything. Something. 🐨: I miss civilian life, I miss ARMY, and I really miss the BTS members, and I miss the past. So, also now, since “Arirang” contains all the joys, angers, sorrows, and pleasures of life together, that kind of emotion felt like it could, in this album of ours. 🐨: As we’re putting out an album for the first time in a while, well, encompass our—what we’ve been through so far, the joys, angers, sorrows, and pleasures, and really tie together the music like that. 🐿️: But the thing that’s truly the most like us, that feels like our roots, and that we could show clearly in that way, I think that was “Arirang.” 🐰: Something that can tie it together— some kind of— 🐿️: Uh, I listened and I was like, oh, kind of like that. 🐨: We sang “Arirang” ten years ago, and at KCON Paris. 🐰: I saw that stage, on the channel. 🐿️: Wait a second, do you remember this? Ah, we did our Arirang and did it like this. We danced hard back then. 🐨: Since that happened, in a way, ten years later, now it ends up coming out as our “Arirang.” I think that’s what happened. 🐰: That’s fascinating.

I remember taking a trip to Florida in my teens. We were sightseeing , new to the area. I was just enjoying the sun and the warm weather for once, I didn’t expect to see anything out of the ordinary. It finally hit me as we were enjoying a drink on the water, we see what looks like a floating log. Our friend who owned the boat said to keep our eyes open and don’t freak out, as long as we were in the boat we were fine. Just hearing that alone was almost panic inducing because he didn’t tell us what we were supposed to be careful of. When the “log drifted under the water, I finally understood what it was that we were looking at. Our friend had us piled in a boat on water infested with these gators. Being from up north, we didn’t see much of this. It made me believe I was in my own movie but I was going to be okay, I thought to myself if it was truly dangerous, our friend wouldn’t have brought us out there right? I stayed calm though, I never knew you could fish in areas that had gators, I assumed they would always go after your bait. All in all I would do it again, but I would never have taken anyone in the water and not tell them about the inhabitants, just in case they have a real phobia. Like I would never take my kids in there in case one panics and falls in. But looking back I’m thinking he may have been in the wrong for taking us there, would you take your friends in an area infested with these creatures not knowing? It’s a little messed up in my opinion but I’m over it.

Fleetwood Mac's Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham perform "Landslide" live on stage. Here's Stevie Nicks telling the story of this awesome song: ''It was written in 1973 at a point where Lindsey and I had driven to Aspen for him to rehearse for two weeks with Don Everly. Lindsey was going to take Phil’s place. So they rehearsed and left, and I made a choice to stay in Aspen. I figured I’d stay there and one of my girlfriends was there. We stayed there for almost three months while Lindsey was on the road, and this is right after the Buckingham Nicks record had been dropped. And it was horrifying to Lindsey and I because we had a taste of the big time, we recorded in a big studio, we met famous people, we made what we consider to be a brilliant record and nobody liked it. I had been a waitress and a cleaning lady, and I didn’t mind any of this. I was perfectly delighted to work and support us so that Lindsey could produce and work and fix our songs and make our music. But I had gotten to a point where it was like, “I’m not happy. I am tired. But I don’t know if we can do any better than this. If nobody likes this, then what are we going to do?” So during that two months I made a decision to continue. “Landslide” was the decision. She sings “When you see my reflection in the snow-covered hills”—it’s the only time in my life that I’ve lived in the snow. But looking up at those Rocky Mountains and going, “Okay, we can do it. I’m sure we can do it.” In one of my journal entries, it says, “I took Lindsey and said, We’re going to the top!” And that’s what we did. Within a year, Mick Fleetwood called us, and we were in Fleetwood Mac making $800 a week a piece. Washing $100 bills through the laundry. It was hysterical. It was like we were rich overnight.''

gunwook day 1 here&now encore ending ment 🥹 💌 the first day of the encore concert has ended. it’s coming to an end. since it’s been a while since we were together with zerose and meeting you again to perform like this, i was really nervous but also really happy. even while preparing, i felt very excited. there were things we were showing for the first time, and many stages we were performing for the first time with this set, so it was really fun. more than anything, the fact that the nine of us were building and carrying the stage together felt especially precious during this concert. since i’m one of the taller members in the team and i usually stand at the very end in the official formations, i get a lot of chances to see all the members at once. every time that happens, i feel so reassured, and i really love being able to see the backs of our amazing members seeing the backs of the other eight members and also seeing their side profiles. i hope that from now on, for a long, long time, i can keep capturing those moments and those in my eyes, and i also hope i can keep filling my eyes with zerose’s blue lights and your blue smiles. somehow, i remember writing this in a letter back during our first anniversary. i said that i felt sad and upset that there might be an end, because i was so curious about what our future selves would look like. and i think i still feel that way now. i don’t know what will happen in the future, but i’ve become so curious about the futures of the other members too, and i really want to support those futures. so because of that, i think the feeling of sadness becomes a little bigger as time passes. for some zerose, today might be the last time you see us like this, or maybe you’ll see us again tomorrow, or the day after tomorrow. but i hope that you can take the image of the nine of us as zerobaseone and keep it in your hearts forever, treasuring it as something precious. and i hope we can become a presence you can always look back on something that gives you strength whenever you need it. thank you. i love you.

To the small island who once ruled the world… come the men who do. 24 years ago, Nike released this advert. It’s trending on social media again. I watched it this morning and it made me cry. I bumped into a neighbour yesterday who has lived in South Africa for 5 years and we were talking about the upcoming game. She’s heading down to our Clubhouse to watch it… as most of us are. And she was telling me how excited she is for South Africa. She’s originally from America but will be wearing her Green and Gold tonight. We started talking about the heart of rugby in our country. You see, the Bokke don’t just play a sport, they play with everything they have. They play for every single South African. They play to remind us who we are. And they play to show us who we can be. My neighbour said, “There is no other nation that does that. It’s so beautiful.” She ignited a core memory in me. It was 1995. The Rugby World Cup was the first major sporting event to take place in South Africa following the end of apartheid. We were the hosts. It was also the first World Cup in which we were allowed to compete. I was sitting on the floor with my brother and sister watching. My folks were on the couch. There was this intense feeling of trepidation. We needed to win. Our country needed to win. “But how do you remember that? You must have been so young?” My neighbour asked. Because it was the first time we felt like one nation. Undivided. It was the first time our country was standing behind a new president and a new flag - together. Nelson Mandela made us believe that we were the rainbow nation. He gave us hope that as a country, we could become more than what we were before. We could rewrite our history. When that last whistle blew our entire team dropped to their knees crying, the crowd flying the new South African flags higher than high and then Nelson Mandela made his way to the pitch to meet Francois Pienaar. Something was ignited in us all. The spirit and heart of how rugby brings South Africans together. So ja, our team don’t just play a sport. They play with everything they have. They play for every single South African. They play to remind us who we are. And they play to show us who we can be. Win or lose, they play to bring us together. To the Bokke today, noma ngabe kwenzekani namuhla, iNingizimu Afrika iyaziqhenya ngani. Ngiyabonga Bokke! Searching for the best in me, I will fight for what I can be. If I win, lose or draw, there's a winner in us all! It's the world in union. The world as one. As we climb to reach our destiny. A new age has begun. For South Africa! Okay. Love you.

Last summer I found myself sitting in a room in Switzerland surrounded by world leaders from completely different industries, all talking about the future of our planet. A very different environment to what I was used to! I was invited onto to a channel to give my take on leadership with my best mate and brother Jay. We talked about leadership and what it meant to us both. I always used to think leaders were born but it’s far from the truth…. They are made. My biggest realisation was that we talk a lot about leadership like it’s confidence and certainty. Like leaders always know what to do. The truth is they don’t… and that’s ok. But good leaders will go seek out better answers and grow. While poor leaders will leave it to someone else to do or turn a blind eye. The day made me realise most of my growth has come from failing. I try to lead with my best intentions, but upon reflection or feedback, I realise there was a better way to do it and then next time…. I lead better and the process repeats! And that day forced me to look at myself properly. As for me, leadership isn’t a title, or being a CEO or having an armband. It’s influence. And that’s the scary part, because everyone has it. Even my two young kids. Every morning before school I tell them the same thing: Be the sunshine in the room ☀️ Because whether we like it or not, we’re leading every single day. In the changing room. At home. In how we speak. In how we react when things don’t go our way. We’re either having a positive impact or a negative one. And that choice sits with us. For the Full interview, hit the link👇

"After the loss in Ahmedabad I honestly felt like I didn’t want to play this Cricket anymore" Rohit Sharma spoke about what happened after the loss in the 2023 World Cup final in Ahmedabad.🗣️- "Everybody was extremely disappointed, and we just couldn’t believe what had happened. It was a very tough time for me personally because I had put everything into that World Cup not just two or three months before it, but ever since I took over the captaincy in 2022." My only goal was to win the World Cup, whether it was the T20 World Cup or the 2023 World Cup. So when it didn’t happen, I was completely devastated. There was no energy left in my body. It took me a couple of months to recover and bring myself back. I guess when you invest so much into something and don’t achieve the result, it’s a very natural reaction. That’s exactly what happened with me. But I also knew that life doesn’t end there. It was a big lesson for me how to deal with disappointment, reset, and start fresh. I knew that something else was coming the 2024 T20 World Cup in the USA and West Indies and I had to shift all my focus towards that. It’s very easy to say this now, but at that moment, it was extremely difficult. At one point, I honestly felt like I didn’t want to play this sport anymore because it had taken everything out of me, and I felt I had nothing left. It took some time, a lot of energy, and self-reflection to get back. I kept reminding myself that this is something I truly love, that it was right in front of me, and I couldn’t let it go so easily. Slowly, I found my way back putting in the effort, regaining the energy, and getting myself moving again on the field.

Hobi talking about the tour😭 🐿️: I was honestly just really happy coming here. I mentioned this earlier during my ending ment today when I was speaking in Korean. It’s our first time touring together as seven again in a long while. It’s been such a long time since we last toured while living away for over a month at a time. I was really excited. Leaving for the tour felt really exciting. 🐿️: I was excited thinking about what kinds of things would happen and how the tour would go. At the beginning, I changed my hair too, and I kept thinking about what kind of styling and look I wanted to show everyone. I was really excited, and it was exactly as much as I had expected. Honestly, I think it turned out to be an even more enjoyable tour than I had imagined. So It was kind of different. 🐿️: I think it felt quite different from the tours we did before our military service. I think we were able to enjoy the performances more and just be happier on stage. Honestly, when you think about it, a concert only feels complete because there are people there watching us. 🐿️: But these days, I’ve been uploading our soundchecks a lot, right? As I keep posting them, I’ve also been saving them to my stories almost like little records or memories. And while looking back on that journey, I found myself thinking, ‘Did we really do this many concerts? It just felt so surreal all of a sudden, coming back here again. 🐿️: I feel like we were able to create some truly beautiful moments. I loved it so much.
