Jewversity

This is common sense -- but today common sense has to be explicitly defined and defended.

Your jewish diversity is not helping.

✅ Diversity has also watered down the values that made us great in the first place. Eg there is now a lower percentage of men in this country who view women as equals, after all the years we’ve fought for equal rights for women. It’s common values that held us together like glue

Very disingenuous to imply that diversity is polar to unity. Both can be true at the same time.

It’s the illusion of unity that’s the problem. You can’t be united with people who are a thousand years behind in thinking. Division and deportation is strength!

Some will argue this point and use a financial portfolio as an example. While diversification is usually preferred, you don’t simply diversify for the sake of diversification. There has to be an underlying and unifying strategy for the portfolio to succeed.

One side is scenes from Game of Thrones, that's the invasion Kisin is talking about. And the other is what Israel did to Palestine. Unity is not a strength when you are united with monsters.

So you'll be giving up your role on your podcast to a white man who was born in the UK then?

Diversity is a strength, but only when it can be constrained by unity. Unity is a strength, as long as we can be free enough to be diverse. E pluribus unum. Ex uno plures.

Exactly. What we have in common, despite our differences...the ties that bind us together are our strength.

Look at the surveys about “citizens” willing to enlist for their country. The immigrants don’t want to do it because they have no buy-in and the citizens that have been there for generations don’t want to do it because they feel like their government doesn’t care about them.

Very popular take. If you’re interested in what is beyond this very popular take spoused here, do a serious intersectional cross-field research about it. You can start with genetics. Diversity has a function, and it is, more often than not, a strength.

Paper beats rock 🤔 Not disagreeing per se but pitching diversity against unity is a bit of a straw man, for the two are not mutually exclusive. You did allure to the concept of “divisiveness”. Bit of a shame it wasn’t spelled out explicitly.

Exactly like Australia

It just ain’t that fucking hard. You are not saying anything That is absurd Common sense Is what’s Lost! Through years of deception . Tell me again How did we put man on the Moon? . Emotionally tied to lies All too often!

Genuinely, it’s both. In fact, it has to be both. As someone who was born in a cult, I’ll explain. Growing up Fundamentalist Mormon, we were anything but diverse. But we were united as fuck. We even had a program within the religion called “The United Order.” As if the word United wasn’t enough, Order went right after it. And guess what? It worked. We were united. We felt order. But—as anyone who’s watched a cult documentary can attest—unity by itself isn’t always a great idea, especially if it comes at the cost of the individual. There needs to be a diversity of thought to keep things from going culty. That said, “diversity” isn’t what we often think it is. Diversity isn’t just different skin tones. It’s different perspectives. Ironically, diversity as a concept over the last few years has turned wildly culty—trying to “right” past “wrongs,” trying to create “order.” So what’s the right mix? The founders of the great, wild experiment known as America were onto something: a focus on the individual. If each of us gets to be our own unique self (which, by definition, will lead to diversity if we’re being authentic) and then find a common aim, we’ll have both—and that’s when flourishing happens. Unity by itself can turn into a cult… or North Korea. But when you have both uniqueness (diversity) and unity, you change the world.

Which suggests there is no Unity in Diversity? Dog whistling headlines are really the downfall of X.

Then why didn't your stupid ancestors just stay in Europe ?

Immigration w/o assimilation is destructive Diversity is NOT our strength EXCEPTIONALISM is our strength -Hard work -Rugged individualism -Shared ethos Diversity doesn't promote a melting pot It promotes segregation & DIS-integration INTEGRATION is the goal of immigration

Precisely. One of the founding ideas of the United States is E Pluribus Unum. Although this is meant more about the states, it also applies to citizens. However "diversity" is the opposite of that ideal, it denigrates creating a common shared culture and promotes balkanization

Replacement is real. And it isn’t about race. It’s about flooding the electorate with people (of any color) that don’t have a strong connection with the country’s history, its values, or its traditions. If you’re trying to fundamentally transform the country, one way to do it is to dilute the electorate with voters that don’t understand & revere the things that make it a country. People that don’t understand the Bill of Rights, are easier to control. Obviously.

It’s the lesson of the Spartans.. I’d rather fight with 1000 Spartans, completely unified, than 10,000 troops, casually associated.

What a fascist says.

I’ve been thinking/saying this for years as this stupid “Diversity is our strength” BS has been trotted out. The only strength is diversity of ideas in pursuit of a common purpose. That way the best ideas can be brought to light and executed upon. Diversity for diversity’s sake is a fatal weakness.

Are you for free speech or not? Free speech is all about diversity.

It makes me sick.

At last. Trust is the most important thing to make societies work. Unity is impossible without trust. And of course, diversity makes trust much more difficult to achieve.

@Wolrab_Aim Harmony is the mattress of peace.
