Peter Alphonse says, “In a reply to Anbumani Ramadoss, MP from PMK party, the Jal Shakti minister has answered in the Parliament that Tamil Nadu and other lower riparian states need not give any consent for the proposed Mekedatu Dam to be constructed by the Karnataka government, that is a stand which is very much detrimental to the interest of the lower riparian states, especially in Tamil Nadu. This kind of stand was never taken by any previous Union governments, because the original proposal for the Mekedatu Dam was proposed in the time of Gundu Rao… When the MGR government was here, they passed a resolution in the assembly; then the President of India himself cancelled the project because Tamil Nadu objected to it because it is a lower riparian state. That is the order of the tribunal. There was no one to look after, consider, or even bother about the Tamil labourers when they migrated from an economically poor Tamil Nadu to states like Maharashtra and Delhi 50–60 years ago. They faced organized political humiliation, threats, attacks, and even kxxxlings. But their children, supported by the visionary schemes of our Dravidian leaders, studied, progressed, and built better lives. Today, Tamil Nadu has developed without parallel, and migration from Tamil Nadu for basic labour jobs has become almost zero. Meanwhile, states the failed states like Uttar Pradesh and Bihar who lost their wealth to bMns & Bannnyas continue to struggle with poverty and lack of opportunities. Many people still face a lack of education and employment for majority najority Hindus and minorities. The started leaving their homeland and coming to Tamil Nadu for their basic livelyhoods. But now the useless politicians and media making it an issue shamelessly. They expect special or royal treatment (which they failed to give) in Tamil Nadu for their labourers, even though their own states could not provide jobs or livelihoods. What an irony. Meanwhile Tamil Nadu pays them almost triple the salary quality food and shelter. We treat them as one of us. But these stupid media blow this as a issue of Tamil Nadu for hiding the major failure of the politics of their Hindi land.
