#WATCH | Chennai | On Congress leaders targeting DMK over boycotting Tamil Nadu CM meeting on delimitation, DMK MP Kanimozhi says, "Unfortunately, I think the Congress has forgotten the history of DMK and Congress in Tamil Nadu. We have stood against the Congress also on many occasions over the past many decades. Every time they try to become a threat to democracy, to our language, to our identity, it has been the DMK that fought against it. We know who has let down the Tamil people, and we know that DMK has always stood with the people of Tamil Nadu, and we will continue fighting. We don't need anybody else to tell us who we are." Even after the Bill is amended, it’s still taking the PIP. It’s still billions of pounds from the pockets of people like Alicia. Disabled people that need that money to live on. Today in Parliament, DMK MPs raised the urgent issue of Karnataka’s failure to release the mandated 7,000 cusecs of Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu. In the Rajya Sabha, we moved a Rule 267 notice seeking an immediate discussion on this critical matter, but permission was not granted. In protest, we staged a walkout, with our colleagues in the Lok Sabha also joining in solidarity. We urged the Union Government to take immediate steps to ensure the release of Cauvery water, halt the Mekedatu Project, and constitute a Tribunal to safeguard the rights of Tamil Nadu as the lower riparian State, while protecting the interests of farmers and the drinking water needs of its people.

DMK members staged a walkout from the Legislative Assembly in protest against Chief Minister Joseph Vijay’s announcement that the Parandur airport project had been cancelled. However, DMK MLA Dravida Mani did not leave the House and instead raised an attention motion regarding tigers attacking members of the public in his constituency. Despite the walkout by his party colleagues, he stayed back to speak about the issues facing his constituency. Speaker JCD Prabhakar praised the DMK MLA for prioritizing his constituency’s concerns.

This House passed this Act in 2024, but it obviously did not work because the government has had to bring another amendment in 2026. We had told them that we would support the Bill because it concerns the interests of the children. No one was going to oppose it. However, we made it very clear to the government that the main issues were that all FIRs against the children had to be withdrawn, the alleged brutality by the Delhi Police and the CRPF/RAF had to be discussed in detail, and the Home Minister had to come to the House and make a statement. Senator Wahab from California State Senate introduced a bill that was up for voting in the Judicial rules committee today. Senator Wahab, born to Afghan immigrants, received opposition from hundreds of Hindus who travelled all the way to Sacramento, California to voice their dissent. This bill discriminates against Hinduism and Manu Dharma, and unfortunately, the Judiciary committee voted in favor of it. Out of 11 Senators, 8 voted for the bill, and 3 were absent. This is a major blow to the future prospects of Hindus in the USA. We stand in solidarity with the protesters who fought against this injustice.
