My boys are in their 20s and off in college, but I was an expert at this. I referred to this technique as the "Baby Burrito".

Yes, absolutely babies like it. They take a while to acclimate to earth! Sounds, smells and touch. It helps a lot. Especially when flailing and upset. It may take a few minutes and soft whispers but they calm down! 😍 I prefer crossing the arms near chest, IME.

My baby LOVES being swaddled. His startle reflex is extreme so he’s more settled if he’s swaddled.

Mine didn’t! My mom would swaddle my baby girl, but when I would check on her she had completely loosened herself from the blanket and was on her back at opposite end of the bassinet from where I or my mom had laid her. After that, my baby didn’t sleep in the bassinet much longer
