I had a hydroplaning incident crossing a bridge over a river on Route 9 in Wapinger Falls, NY. I thought I was going to die. Had no control over the van, drifted into the other lane was facing a tractor trailer. Somehow got control to avoid the truck. Then thought I was going over the bridge into the river. Somehow got control again. Crossed the bridge. Pulled over. Had to rearrange all the cargo in the back. Not sure how I survived without a scratch.

There's that one stretch on I-80 between Cheyanne and Laramie, my girlfriend is driving this piece of junk Datsun 210. We do like about 3 360s. I'm like it "GAS IT GAS IT GAS IT!... holy hell..

I don't miss it on your behalf. I remember when you went off of the road and had to get a tow truck. That's how fast it can happen to anybody regardless of ability. Now, you can just enjoy your old videos and be safe. 🥰

I lost brakes one time due to frozen lines going down a toll rd bridge...layed on the horn and picked a closed toll booth...I had to back up to pay the toll and the guy in the booth I paid at was shocked I made it!..the dryer failed but it was very cold.

Travelers were safer with you rolling down the roads John! There is nothing except white knuckles that can gain the type of experience you had behind the wheel of that truck! Back in the day I’d follow the truckers during bad weather. Now I safely get as far from them.

Guess I was just young and stupid in 1978, drove a '71 Mustang with L60s on the back, lifted, 351C with 3/4 cam and drove 100 miles to get home for Christmas way back when. Following a snow plow until he got off freeway, so I slowed a bit as he continued up off ramp then down on ramp on other side and I was the snow plow. I looked in rear view and had 20 cars following ME! In my tire tracks. Had 4 Navy Sailors with me from around the country going to my Mom's house, they were amazed.
