I’m retired army make the best of it and use what you can use because like the other brother commented we’re using this white man’s app, shopping at his stores, buying his cars, clothes, food etc. Basically, you’ll be using that white man’s stuff for something use that man wisely and for your benefit.

The only difference is using those other things won’t put you at risk of losing your life, won’t drop you off to a foreign land to die over something that don’t benefit you

Because it benefited me and my family. I got tired of seeing 4 year olds with gun shot holes in their head, neck, and toro area. I got tired of being shot at for materialistic things, got tired of having guns put in my face and asked if I was a drug dealer. Got sick and tired of being sick & tired.

I don’t like when people give THEIR experience and pass it on as that is what EVERYONE will experience. I did 21 years in the Army, while I can’t say she’s completely wrong (because she’s not), I can say that I did NOT experience most of what she’s saying.

The military is reflection of society. Yes there’s racism, yes there’s bad leadership, yes there’s politics, and you may not get a promotion you thought you deserved. However, most black folks I know got their benefits and used their service to level up. I have no regrets.

This makes me think of that missing Dominican girl who was found dead in her barracks after telling her mother she was being harassed by her commanding officer. Also, the only was I can rationalize how enlisted people kill themselves at such alarming rates is experimental drugs

I was a military brat— my stepfather, was in the army, and the troops are the ghetto for real. Military housing is the projects. And then people be having serious problems
