Huh, is this video uploaded on youtube too? I can't find it.

Finally ready:

Just watched it - insane summary!

Matt Hill is sooo good

everything i've seen so far in 2026 screams "capture". so when matt hill reasons that miners may not activate due to an "unknown reason that benefits them", and that such a reason will ultimately signal capture, i find myself very, very concerned.

Why do BIP 110 advocates ignore consensus and demand miners kneel to the rules of a minority?

👇

@_MattHill_ 👍🎯

One of the best if not the best explanations I’ve heard so far; even a simple, non-tech pleb can understand it.

I haven’t been keeping up much with BIP-110, but upon watching the video, the 15% BIP-110 crowd seems to be the bullies forcing something on the other 85%. If the BIP-110 crowd is the majority, I can understand, but 15%? 🤔

Low key I'm ready to fire the miners.

👇

This was great, thank you.

I understand that the average person does not get BIP110, most people don’t even get Bitcoin in the first place. But what I find hard to believe is why some seasoned Bitcoiner don’t get BIP110. Great explanation @mattkratter and @_MattHill_

Very Helpful, thanks Matt

@venorusprime BIP 110 all the way!

I'm a bitcoiner but when I see things like this happening and have to sit on my hands on saturday just to be safe it makes me wonder how can bitcoin become a world dominant asset, in similar scenario in the futurue? it will not be possible to just ask the world to take a holiday.

It's much better than a world full of wars from the money printer, as well as having your PayPal account banned every year and bank account frozen

@baltazzardcr Und du glaubst in Bitcoin dürfte das nicht existieren? Hmm 🤔

@mattkratter Certainly, it would be a much better world. I do hope it happens. I was just wondering as this would be severely disruptive for many industries, hospitals, etc. But we are not there yet, so solutions can happen before!

Great video. @start9 Matt Hill thanks for sharing this perspective. That is some wild stuff.

I mean there is a bunch of misleading and inaccurate information here… especially “the bitcoin edge” has no idea what he’s talking about

I did pull my remaining SATS off the exchange. 👍

It was never my intention when supporting BIP-110, but I am starting to stack dollars to buy the BIP-110 blockchain in case of split between the true BTC and the corrupted BTC.

A failed BIP-110 may be bullish for BTC: markets get Core stability, institutions get predictability If node runners learn their veto is fiction & governments learn miners are the choke point, sovereign BTC needs a hard fork Sovereignty w/o veto leaves coercion unanswered

@MBitcoiner Thoughts

Great video - thanks so much!

Very well explained

"it doesn't make sense for there to be a chain split" - expect a chain split by miners

Hi Matt, pleb here. I have been following for a long time now but I haven’t heard much at all about the idea of changing PoW. This seems like a completely insurmountable obstacle, from my little foxhole. It also seems like anathema. I need you to make it make sense please.

There's a good discussion of it at the end of the video. The question you have to ask yourself is: what if miners ignore the wishes of node runners? What happens if they ignore you once. . . and then twice. . .

I appreciate it Matt but yes I definitely already watched the video you posted... and the idea of changing PoW was mentioned but not thoroughly explained and analyzed at the level that is typical of your efforts. How the hell would it work, what are the alternatives to current?

Should I remove coins from coin joins?

I always thought that softfork = tighetening the rules. Hardfork = widening the rules. Do we have a different definition now??

For people running their own nodes, shouldn't they create a back up of their Blockchain data running into the possibility of chain split and their node ending up on the software with the smaller PoW? Just a precaution so no matter what, they can recover from pre split start!

So we are looking at a soft fork, tighten up on the rules.

@Oxsaif_core

Matt, my funds are on coldcard still, do I move it to my phone (muun wallet)? or dig out my old ledger?! Quite the problem, and I've been out of the circle for about a year so I have no idea what's happening other than what you've stated. Thanks

Miners acting in their economic interest~ assumes their decision-makers aren’t receiving larger, hidden fiat incentives to act otherwise. Chain/UTXO bloat costs node operators, eventually pricing out small nodes and centralising control~bigBTC desire this.

did nvk support BIP110?

Not accidental.

Can someone explain to me why miners just do nothing, 85% of nodes do nothing, and they all carry on their merry way without us?
