Putting your finger in the hole will clog the hose

They make different hose nozzles for this already

The thread on the end of the hose is to add a proper attachment to do precisely this

OMG or they make these things that go over hoses called an "adjustable hose nozzle." You really missed out by doing this overly complicated "hack" instead of using the words hose nozzle. also RIP to your plants, you're supposed to water the roots not the leaves babe.
