Do we still have teachers like him?

I’ve met a lot of teachers like this. They just don’t make the news. They’re the kind of people that wouldn’t want the recognition anyway.

Good to hear🔥

Title: The Wire

This was one of the best seasons of The Wire. Introducing the kids as a central theme of the show really upped the ante

My stepdad was a truant officer in Chicago (back when that was a thing). He regularly asked us to put together packages w/gently used clothes & toiletries 4/kids @ his school. He’s been dead almost 40 yrs & they still remember him.

He was a good person

There are plenty who have this kind of heart and compassion but are limited by fear of lawsuits and allegations. It’s a very fine line to have to walk.

Honestly, most educators have a heart for students, and while it may not be an act similar to this, they all demonstrate compassion in their own way. You just wouldn't know it b/c of how teachers and educators are portrayed in the media.

I’m with you

Yes but are less now. Public opinion has influenced that. Teachers want to make a difference but they don’t get the support needed to meet their own needs which results in sacrifices in their own lives for their students.

@rlchrispalmer Tough

Very sad ending for the kid.

For years, I used to provide professional sport jerseys for our Church’s Christmas giving tree. One year, the person in charge of the ministry took me aside to tell me they found out the parents were taking my jerseys from the kids and selling them online.

Oh my!😪

More importantly why do we still have parents who put children in these situations? Yes, there are still teachers who have compassion and help kids in need.

It’s not always their fault

Yes, we are still here. But we don’t need or want attention because our kids don’t need people to know.

I need to think there are, but if their numbers have greatly dwindled we only have ourselves to blame for never fully appreciating them enough to do something as simple as demanding livable wages and respect for what they do.

Yes, I was one of them. Not the showering stuff but food and clothes. We need more like this

Prez was a problem in his own ways.

Nope! Because teachers and students ruined it for teachers to extend olive branches anymore

ME!!!!

Yes, there are still teachers like this. Season 4 of the Wire is my favorite but it also breaks my heart every damn time.

Honestly this was the best season

Now this is leadership

Prezbo redemption was a great arch on the wire

Saddest ending of the show for Dookie.

Always bummed me out how he ended up

My school has a uniform closet for these or other situations. There is also a washer and dryer. No showering is available, but hygiene products can be. If you do it expecting appreciation or support, don't bother. In today's society, that won't happen.

Understandable

The wire (series)

Depends on the kids.

The teacher is a good one 👏👍

That’s a good teacher

The teacher is a good man

@grok movie?

I don't think so

Not enough. Parents are raising more kids that are ungrateful and entitled rather than thankful and respectful. A dam shame

🙏🏻

That is good

The point is institutional failure. No teacher should be expected to do any of this

It’s voluntarily

He shot a cop in the head you know. And he blinded a young boy.
