Absolutely correct. The day we stop hero worshipping and start treating cricketers as normal people Indian cricket will be on a different path.

Agree. Throughout the Tournament Everybody contributed. Dhoni's Batting Form was bad and didn't contribute throughout except Final after Openers put a strong platform before Dhoni stepped in ahead of an inform Yuvraj against a familiar opposition and got the entire credit for WC

Yes, agree. One person, one name cannot achieve anything on its own. There are hundreds and thousands of hands and wishes behind the success of that one person.

Did you notice the way Venkatesh Iyer and Varun Chakravarthy gave credit to Abhishek Nayar yesterday ? They made sure the interviewer puts him on the mike. Most times the real hero’s are not visible upfront and go unnoticed !

Yes,ofcourse. Gautam sir is absolutely ryt. There should be no over hype of just a few cricketers. It's a team sport, everyone's contribution is important.

Exactly real heroes were forgotten or overshadowed by PR work for Chennai and Mumbai lobby. The guys who made foundation for the victory are ZK and GG.

Bhai Saab I like you but, Even our creepy fans are giving you the credit more than the players because you are the reason they play like that. So, in the same way a captain's role plays a huge role in how the players play. The best example is pat Cummins and sunrisers

He is absolutely right But at the same time we have to understand that we lose big tournament we remember only captain Kohli will be remembered as a great captain who never won ICC tournament No one will remember failure of players during that tournaments

Basically, Dhoni cult has gone overboard. Even with CSK, it's all about one man. He makes a valid point.

Unknowingly he was made hero for yesterday's win. Now let's see how he responds

Absolutely agree. This is the reason why India are failing in big games and finals. The pressure of expectations due to that hero and demi God status is hurting us. This is exactly why Australian shine in crunch games. For them, it is just another profession. Thats all.

This is entirely correct. But we like to build mythologies and put our favorites on a pedestal. People then start to follow their stars rather than the game.

Almost everyone remembers that contribution of Zak, Yuvi, Raina, and the contribution of all 11 players. But you always target only one player who was your captain. That's very unfortunate !!!

Since he left playing, I have always disliked Gambhir for his constant critical nature. But he is now starting to make sense. Cricket in India has always been abt individual players and not the team as a whole. Only if that changes, will we see ourselves winning ICC trophies.

Yes.. i agree with Gautam Gambhirji.. every single player contributes to the win of the team.. its teamwork n the mindset.. that im playing fr the country n not fr my personal records..

What’s there to disagree? He is speaking facts for which he gets trolled always. Hero worshiping is the reason we don’t have many trophies & medals in sports.

How does that qualify as an authoritative statement about cricket in India, as Gambhir himself toyed with both sports and politics? He couldn't stop the political heirs taking up top positions on cricket boards running the sport. Absolutely without knowledge of cricket. How?

Runs were important too as well as the great spell from Zak. Every bit was important and everyone played their part in winning the WC.
