Do you even remember how badass the intro to DOOM 2016 was? #Doom

I loved how the entire time Doom Marine just kept punching and breaking shit angrily when it came to completing objectives like pressing buttons, removing canisters from machines, etc.

"The module is very delicate, you need to input this code, then gently lift..." *angrily punches the module and yanks it out of the machine* Just chef's kiss...

Eternal is better in most aspects, but for me DOOM 2016 has wayyyy better immersion. The fact that you are in first person even on cinematics is so fucking badass. That may be the one thing i really think its a step down in eternal.

The way DOOMslayer looks down at the corpse when Hayden says “it was for the betterment of mankind” is perfect

One of the biggest "We're so back!" moments in video games.

They should have continued roughly in the same direction. Too many bad decisions in Eternal

Doom Slayer looking at the body when Samuel says "betterment of mankind" says a lot about his character than any form of dialogue or exposition ever could.

More character development in this one cutscene than most games.

The scripted moments from 2016 are a lot more hype than the scripted moments from eternal.

interesting, For me, the Shotgun pump is synched to the beat as the fourth "bum-bum"... And I always thought that was intentional and AMAZING.

Doom 2016 and Eternal remain 2 of my favorite game openings of all time. The only other ones that come to mind are the Left 4 Dead Intros, especially L4D2's.
