at the root of it, i think that reaction is a mix of realization that viktor's gotten this curt due to a) desperation over his health decline b) tension after jayce changed priorities for the council and c) now because of it he's slowly losing his vibrancy he used to love

SORRY i just think through those years that viktor, no matter how much jayce gets uptight or wary about their experiments, must probably be always lighthearted about it. he never stopped being passionate over hextech, but you can tell how less enthusiastic hes been
