🚨 Putin tells Pashinyan Armenia's EU bid means leaving EAEU 🚨 Russian President Vladimir Putin told Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in Bishkek on Tuesday that the adoption of a law launching the process of the republic’s accession to the European Union effectively amounts to a declaration of withdrawal from the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). Pashinyan claimed that the law passed by the Armenian parliament did not mean an immediate withdrawal from the EAEU. According to the Prime Minister, Armenia is keen to maintain relations with Russia and wishes to have alternatives in the face of a changing international situation. "This process is not directed against Russia, nor against the Eurasian Economic Union, because we hold our relations with the Russian Federation in very high regard," Pashinyan continued. "We hope that these relations are important to Russia as well." Putin, however, did not agree with this interpretation, reaffirming that initiation of EU accession will, in Moscow’s view, withdraw Armenia from the EAEU. "Allow me to disagree with you.
