Paid 50p at Newark Air Museum to sit in one and a 20 minute talk by ex ground engineer on the history. Best money ever spent.

The Vulcan bomber's round trip to the Falklands, part of Operation Black Buck during the Falklands War, involved a 7,700-mile (12,400 km) journey from Ascension Island and back. This was the longest bombing mission attempted at the time, it required extensive use of refuelling.

I lived in Lincoln in the early 70s. We had pilots living on our estate. When they were flying home, they would fly over and dip their wing to let their wives know they would be home soon.

Same age and size as the B-52. The B-52 is still flying... the UK on the other hand, scraps everything it possibly can leaving it's air force stripped to the bare minimum.

It was not a Machine, it was a thing of Beauty. The Only bomber which would fly like a fighter, as expressed by the test piolet. Saw it many times in the past. I used to watch it flying just before its final flight. My Father even used to work on them as a sparky back in the 60's. We should have something better now as the design was perfect. By now we could have had a super sonic V Bomber but for all the cuts. Oh and who can forget 1982

Was always my fave at air shows as a kid. I read a story about how Vulcans were used to test American air defences. The Americans failed to detect it 🤣🤣🇬🇧💪
