Under lap over lap

Basic overlap/underlaps. If it were just that everyone would do it as effectively as City. It’s the timing and positioning of the lapping player that is key, and beforehand having a solid foundation playing out that allows those players to receive the ball in those positions.

The discipline in positional play is amazing. You could draw the zones and they perfectly execute it. I wonder if it's a principle, that the winger cuts inside, when the half space is free and the half space player overlaps.

Create 2v1 on fullback, get into the half space, square it or pull it back to finish.

Great compilation. I think the key to those overlapping runs in focusing the play on the opp side so at the point of switching the fullback is isolated with no cover to pickup the overlap.
