Are you jealous that Anwar Maqsood makes people laugh whereas your whole “comedic career” has been an abject failure replete with weird creepy misogynistic jokes and the like?

Write me one episode as good or better than ‘Loose Talk’, Ill happily accept this sort of criticism. Have we ever asked the writers of ‘Friends’ to produce something better than Friends? What are you expecting from one individual? Why is it his responsibility to go beyond 14 Aug narrative? It’s purely an artist’s choice - for once stop seeking lessons from artists. Neither it’s their job nor it should be our expectation from them. “Film se sabak kya seekha?” Wali soch say bahr ana hoga. Filmain sabak nahi sekhatien, halaik ko reflect kerti hain, aur hakaik mein aksar her tarhan ka sabak nahi milta. Anwar Maqsood has done enough to be recognised as a respected artist. Don’t expect him to become a Messiah or something. This person speaks so well and has a very good influence. Let’s expect him to do what Anwar Maqsood or others couldn’t. Let’s move ahead from just being critical cuz walking, sometimes, is better than talking, especially in cases like these. I really adore your work @Shehzad89 but this sort of criticism stands nowhere. That’s my opinion and it could be wrong. 🙏

Anwar Maqsood is a typical Chauvinist & maintains the ethnic and sectarian bigotry of the chattering classes that he epitomises. His racist attacks against Sindhi culture & nauseating propaganda for establishment projects is a matter of record

I think instead of personalities you should discuss ideas. Anwar Maqsood wrote what he thought right for the society, if you think those ideas were not good come up with your own better thoughts.

You could not calculate the impact his writing has on our society it does not mean that you discredit him by choosing the few cheap lines (in Your opinion) out of millions of beautiful lines he wrote in his career.

Anwar Maqsood sahab is overrated. His success was mainly due to excellent acting skills of Moeen Akhtar. Which is why he hasn't been able to come up with anything noteworthy after Moin's death. Now, he has to resort to racism and childish jokes, riding on a political bandwagon.
