Like a non-verbal type of young kid? Yeah... I can kind of see it. He could still be funny without having to say a single word. Not saying I was ever a 'fan' of Clarence, so I wouldn't say if it would make any difference.

Nope. Clarence was special cause he used his imagination as a guide, which oftentimes led to funny outcomes due to his lack of understanding of how the real world works. That’s why I like that he was partnered with Jeff (the kid who DID know how thinks work), and Sumo (the wild)
