Thank you Tom Cotton for keeping your promise and once again preventing permanent daylight saving time from advancing in the Senate! Over the decades, Agudath Israel of America has repeatedly raised concerns about the danger of children walking to school in the dark and the effect permanent DST will have on our religious practices.

The Sunshine Protection Act is once again in the spotlight. This is a move to have Daylight Savings Time be the permanent time as opposed to Standard Time. THIS IS THE WRONG TIME TO MAKE PERMANENT. I did a video back in 2022 (video below) discussing how this has been tried before in the U.S. back in the 1970s and also in other countries like Russia and the U.K. ALL attempts to make DST permanent was ultimately reversed for various reasons. BTW I do suggest watching the video at about 1.5 speed as I tend to talk slower in my videos. :) With DST you are trading longer summer days for considerably longer darker mornings for the year. This has lead to increased fatalities in car accidents and school children deaths as they walk to their buses/school. Our natural circadian rhythms are disrupted leading to decreased productivity and work place accidents as well as various worstening of overall health. Please share this and check out Save Standard Time as they have great information on this as well. Please do not let the Sunshine Protection Act pass. It is backed by powerful entities that stand to gain financially from longer sunshine when you get off work. They are trading greed for increased deaths and disability.
